IMS, wouldn't the rice violate the candida principles? Otherwise, thanks for the

You can have Rice Protein Shake from help store , it is rich in amino

acids and no much fiber.Or if you have reflux it is good to cool woth Almond

milk or Outmeal milk. Coconut water (not juice) has less sugar and you may

tolerate it a little bit.If I really want to have snack at bed time choose

avocado bc it is light. But even such snack or water can give reflux if I lay

down after that flat.

Have you tried soaked nuts?

Walnuts, I keep some in the salty water in the fridge and some I slowly dry.

Chop up some avocado, or even puree and mix with few soaked walnuts - yum!

The walnuts that you dry, you can grind and use to sprinkle.

My nighttime snack is walnuts (sometimes soaked and dried again) or Brazil

Nuts (rarely) and a Granny Apple. It is one of the rare fruits that I

eat, but not as much sugar. I followed the Body Ecology Diet for a while and

this is one of my holdovers. It is definitely challenging with the food! I

also add Celtic Salt to the walnuts due to severe adrenal fatigue.

There is coconut ice cream (Pure Decadence) as well as coconut yogurt (So

Delicious, not Soy Delicious), but they do have a fair amount of sugar.

There is also a recipe for coconut ice cream without sugar if you like

stevia (I not a big fan and used something else):

1 can coconut milk

1/8 teaspoon stevia powder

1/4 cup vegetable glycerin

Vanilla extract to taste

You can put this in an ice cream maker for the easiest way.

Otherwise, bring to a boil on the stove, stirring well. Let cool to room

temp. Pour into container and freeze overnight. Take it out, let thaw for

1/2 hour and mix with hand blender. Once blended until smooth freeze for a

couple of more hours.

I have a lot of friends that make this for their kids and the kids love it.

I have a few flavors of Haagen Dazs real ice cream that I can still eat.

Look for the simple flavors without corn syrup or " natural flavoring " .

Vanilla, strawberry, chocolate peanut butter, coffee.

1/cup has about 24 gm carb. And because of the real cream and the

resulting fat content, it doesn't spike my blood sugar (I've tested).

Used to be years ago, almost all the HD flavors were very pure (no corn

syrup, " natural flavors " or other junk ingredients) but in recent years

gradually more and more HD flavors have that kind of stuff added. So it

is necessary to read ingredients.

But, because this is real ice cream, very dense, not whipped full of

air, 1/2 cup is a very satisfying treat. I sometimes add nuts, and

usually add 1 T of Hershey's chocolate shell (palm oil).

Like you I eat nuts as a regular part of my diet, so nuts don't qualify

as a comfort food or treat for me.

Another comfort food that is very satisfying is flan, made with half and

half or half cream, half water, and stevia. A serving of flan with a

little real cream as topping is yummy.

Sol, I'm already getting enough of the yolk in the morning, 2 xl at breakfast so

the whites alone at night will be enough. Now I am trying to figure out whether

I am going to buy the ones in a tray prepared at the store. I am a little

worried about salmonella with them. If I do it myself and do not want to fry

them that late( gerd with the fried oil), would that necessitate doing a hard

boiled egg and removing the yolk. It has been a while, or I never did it just

for the white. Doug

Leaving out the yolks you miss out a lot of protein, good fats,

lecithin, and vitamins.

Yes, but I don't worry about the amount of sugar in it.

The treat is worth it. It is actual sugar, too, not corn syrup, or HFCS.

Well, I know you don't like to cook or make any food, but it is a

no-brainer to use full fat plain yogurt, add fruit, and stevia or

something. It is just too easy to do to use flavored sugared yogurts,

and you don't get any iffy ingredients either, if you choose a good

brand of yogurt without additives.

No need to chop fruit either, unsweetened applesauce, walnuts and

cinnamon are good in plain yogurt.

Well that is the problem as I see it. It is difficult to get healthy or

stay healthy while eating food with all kinds of artificial additive

ingredients, some of which are known to be neurotoxins, others are

common allergens, and some are just total crap (technical term).

Some of those ingredients could also be exacerbating your ADD. Seriously.

Since you said you don't prepare anything for yourself, and will not

even mix yogurt and fruit yourself, I made the perhaps mistaken

assumption that you probably would not make even a fresh salad, and your

diet probably consisted of 100% commercially produced foods, ready to

eat, or heat and eat.

So if you eat " rather healthy " and yet do not cook and are not willing

to mix fruit and yogurt, what the heck DO you eat? I am at a loss to

imagine what your diet consists of.

Sol,  fresh organic spinach raw mixed with organic sauerkraut, or mix romaine

lettuce with the sauerkraut, almost all nuts raw, not cooked or salted or

anything, frozen green beans(heat up), eggs, hemp seed 1 tablespoon once a day,

fresh vegetables will steam, unsweetened soy milk, just eliminated my green

apples to try to get stricter, peanut butter, popcorn in olive oil, fresh

carrots, avocados, brocco sprouts, sunflower and pumpkin seeds raw,  I recently

deleted the yogurt, just added chicken with miminal additives( Whole Foods)

sardines straight from the can, King Mediteranean style-very yummy, salmon

straight from the can, cocunut oil, coffee. I do this same regimen day after

day. Doug

I eat a lot of chicken, as it is one of the protein sources that are

allergy safe for me (if it is processed only with water, not that " added

solution " which the whole foods chicken should not have--no added stuff

chicken is hard to find here, no access to a whole foods or similar market)

I'm surprised your diet doesn't sound that bad to me, except for the

soy. I WISH I could eat sardines, I love them. Maybe I will try some, as

I've been less allergy reactive since starting on vit A, usually I'd

have to take a big dose of antihistamine before eating them, and given

the side effects of the antihistamines, it mostly isn't worth it to me.

However, I'm still puzzled by you refusing to consider mixing plain full

fat yogurt with some low sugar frozen fruit or unsweetened applesauce

and nuts. I just can't get my mind around that. No offense intended.

Sol, as to your last suggestion, since it is a sugar compromise, the Stonyfield

no fat is also a small compromise. I cannot imagine where I can get no additive

chicken if I cannot get it at Whole Foods. I am still open to new food

additions. Someone had suggested hearts of palm but what I found had citric acid

in it and with my acid reflux did not need that. My understanding is any meat

except fish raises your inflammation CRP?, I have reasearch notes to back that

up. I am compromising on the chicken as my life is a compromise. Doug
