The fridgerated one's are stronger, also more costly, if you can afford

them then they are the better ones.

The roomtemp ones are usually a different set of strains that's more heat

resistant.

I have tried both, while the cold ones worked better, I couldn't afford

to keep taking them so I went to the cheeper ones. Sence I'm alergic to

milk I couldn't make yogert and keep a fresh batch going either.... darn....

Plus, get some B-5 (Pantothenic acid) to go with it. It dose nice things

together and B-5 is cheap too.

It is a bacteria, and refridgeration slows the life processes until you get it.

Potency is measured in how many organisms were alive at the factory when

bottled.

One would think so. people who don't refridgerator are fooling themselves.

It is my favorite brand. It is the best bang for the buck I have ever

encountered, and seems more effctive than many I have tried. Acidophilus is the

primary bacteria for the small intesting & bifidus is the priary bacteria for

the large intestine. I won't but products without the bifidus, and would use it

if I had to choose between them. I have just started on a digestive enzyme

regime and one thing pointed out to me by the naturopathic teaching doctor with

whom I spoke (many of her " students " are MD's. Wouldn't you like a doctor with

an open

mind?) says our probiotic formula MUST contain l. plantarum.

Lactase digests lactose. It should help you tolerate yoghurt. Or, acidophilus

and associated bacterias can be bred wit cabage juice as well. They aren't a

milk bacteria, per se. I don't have a recipe handy, but I remember recipes for

fermenting cabage juice in Dr. Jensen's colon cleansing book, found in many

health food stores. Try a search on fermenting cabbage.

Did you try the yogurt?

Usually people allergic to milk are not to yogurt.

I've seen aywhere from 1 to 50 billion. Does anyone have a recommendation on a

product and/or where to purchase? The one that was 50 billion at the time of

expiry was quite expensive. Is a 3 billion adequate?

Thanks,

Dana
