Guest guest
I joined this and other groups a while back when I started to discover that I was fighting a Candida overgrowth. I have periodically read some post of information but I figured it was time to introduce myself. I have discovered that I can not do this alone. I am a 29 year old female. I have had yeast infections for quite a many years now, in the past two years they are becoming chronic. I think last year I spent 2/3 of the year with a yeast infection. For medical history information that I should mention, is that I also had a pituitary tumor for 3 years while in my teens. We dissipated the tumor with medication when I was 18. I had another mass appear when I was about 25. I still have this mass. I currently don't have insurance and hoping that I can balance my pH level or something to reverse the prolactin levels to get that part of my body healthier. When I first started changing my diet I had two periods! Those were the first in years. I just knew that I had to be on the right track….Unfortunately, I seemed to have passed on the Candida curse to my husband as well. (Boy, do I feel crappy about that.) So this issue has become an `our' issue and need help to get rid of it. I also have a standing prescription for diflucan. Last time I saw my GYN he put me on it for 6 weeks (take one, another in 2 days then repeat the next week). The week after I finished I had another infection. That was when I decided to change the way that I am fighting this. The diet change is the hardest part of our lives. We also live in South Louisiana where it is considered rude to not eat. Not to mention that EVERYTHING is SOOOO Good! I have been making the changes in my diet since December. Doing it slowly I thought would help me not want to binge. I have lost 35 pounds (which is another great thing). Besides diet changes we take vitamins daily, probotics, we were taking caprylic acid (didn't seem that it made much of a difference), Echinacea, I also take Cranberry concentrate for UTI prevention. I researched great sites like whole foods approach and earthclinic.com for recipes and home remedies. We have gotten varying successes but no `cures'. I am at a loss on what to do next. I simply can't afford a completely organic diet. I do however buy organic garlic and other things too when we can. I will be searching the forums posts on all the sites that I have found for something –ANYTHING to add to my regimen to get rid of this. Thankfully I don't have the horror stories that I see in these posts and honestly I want to stop it before I get there. My hopes and prayers are with you all to find your body's own balance and in getting rid of this pesky imbalance. Finally, it is nice to meet you all, happy that I am not alone through it but I am sorry that we are meeting because of this problem. Thank you for listening to my ramble. Thanks Again, Nay
