Guest guest
I can't offer you advise, since I am not one of the lucky who had implants and got to enjoy them and be healthy. I got ill right away and after only 1 and a half years had them out. Well I am still ill and it is not very fun. I would never have had them out if I had not been sick, so I don't know what to say to you. If you have a gut feeling about it, then get them out, you will be shocked in the beginning about how you look, depending on how your breasts looked before and if you need or get a lift or not. The lift scars are very ugly at first, but mine are looking allot better now after only 3 months so you will get better as far as that goes. Good luck to you in your decision In @y..., imskyy@e... wrote: > Hi! I'm a new member. I have scheduled to have my implants removed > in August 2001 and I am getting cold feet. Guest guest
, I had my saline implants removed in September after having them since l994 as a replacement for silicone rupture. I had the silicone since l978. No one told me to remove them--but I knew they had to come out. I was terribly sick and not one doctor told me it could be my implants. I'm much better than I was a year ago and hopefully I can recover from this horrible journey. I'm working on it!! Only you can make the decision and it is a hard one--be comfortable with who you are--your implants are and outside thing and it's what's on the inside that counts!!!!!!!! I found a lot of caring support from this group and Ilena's group--stay with us! Love, Phyllis:-)
Guest guest
, hello and welcome. I don't know if I have any encouraging words for you. I'm in the same boat. My surgery date is May 28th and I too waffle from day to day. Part of me is excited because I believe the health problems I have will be corrected without the implants and the other part of me is unsure of how I will feel after explant. I'm sure my attitude will be great but do have my doubts from day to day. I think you are taking the right approach because of all the sickness we are reading about that other women have suffered. My health problems have been minor compared to most but the question remains in my mind whether its the implants that have caused these maladies. All the best with your decision . Stick around, you'll learn lots and that will help you make an informed decision for yourself. Take care, Jackie ----- Original Message ----- From: imskyy@... Guest guest
Jackie, Thank you for responding. I too question whether implants cause these illnesses or if some people have a predisposition and it's coincidence. Either way I have decided to have mine removed so I have the control, not an illness or a rupture. My mother was diagnosed with lupus about 5 years ago (after I got my implants), but she doesn't have implants. Nothing in life is so straightforward; it would be an easier decision if things were. My primary concern is how I will look after. I can deal with being an A cup or less again, but not with a deformity. I have decided to have Dr. Feng do the surgery because of all the positive things I have heard about her. I hope she is the miracle worker people claim she is. I need to send a deposit to hold my appointment this week and I am still hesitating. I am so afraid. In my head I am ready, but looking in the mirror I am scared. I know in my heart that I will be relieved when this is all over and that is what I am holding on to. Have you spoken to many people that have explanted? Are they happy with their results? How are you doing with your decision? This is a tough decision to make when you don't have to have them removed. I wish you well, please keep me posted. Sincerely, Jackie wrote: , hello and welcome. Guest guest
Dr Feng is great if you go to her you won't be deformed, it will depend on how much tissue you have how you look but she made me cute breast out of almost nothing so that is a positive thing GOOD LUCK Yes I do believe 100% the implants gave me this problem, I just feel eventually they cause a problem in some way, they are not meant to be there they are a foreighn body and your immune system will fight it and some people might get cc and some might get lupus but I think eventually a price will be paid. I was talking to a friend who has an aunt who is in her 70's and has had implants for 30 years first silicone, now saline, she said this woman is totally crazy, she can't remeber anything, she gets lost, she spaces out, she is loopy, well some people might say it is old age, but really, I wouldn't be surprised if it is the implants. How can a foreighn thing be good for you. Time will tell, I feel the truth is going to come out, some people just take longer than others. Guest guest
Hi , I hope you are getting stronger in your conviction about removing your implants. I say this mainly because I remember your comments about wanting to have children someday in the near future, and if you have any reason at all, it is for the health of your children yet to be born. I waited until after giving birth to my last child before I even pursued the idea of getting implants. I did not want to compromise their development in ANY way. I know how hard this is....I really, really do. I cried for days on end when I realized my prized implants were going to have to go. You may have your health now, but what about your precious children? Give them the best chance they can have.
