Guest guest
I'm doing the Medifast diet. I have been on this diet for 2 1/2 months and have lost 22 lbs. My Candida flared back up right before I started the Medifast diet. I thought since the medifast diet is Low Carb, Low Fat and Low Calorie it shouldn't affect my healing process. I haven't had a bad outbreak yet, but I just made a appointment with my doctor because I'm breaking out in some kind of rash. I'm not sure it's related to my Candida or not. I'll let you know, if your interested. I have had the worst time losing weight and medifast has been the only diet that has helped me lose the unwanted weight in the past 10 years. I still have 30 pounds to go. So I'm hoping this rash can be controlled for another 3 months. Just a quick question for any one that might have more information on this. A friend was going to a doctor's practice that uses " Medifast " diet products for a quick start on losing weight to sort of kick start the weight loss and help with the yeast being there is a diabetic plan, then go into a lean green and colorful diet program to continue the weight loss. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge or experience with using the Medifast products under a doctors supervision.. thanks in advance Lainey
Guest guest
Terry, I urge you to consider that the low-fat diet may not provide enough DHA and EPA without added cod liver oil, and there's a real risk of unbalanced, excess omega-6 oil (excess is inflammatory) because it's naturally in a lot of vegetables and EPA and DHA are not. Then there's the potential for inadequate saturated fats in such a diet too. Personally I don't advise low-fat diets; I believe they are unsound. I know a couple of people on low-fat whose gallbladders filled with stones because the action of squeezing bile out, which dilutes the bile salts so they don't crystallize as much, was non-existant. There's a good chance the rash will respond to undenatured whey and selenium. Many times a rash has been linked to reduced phase II liver detoxification, and glutathione produced from these precursors is the main ingredient in phase II detox. Details on liver function can be found in this chapter scanned from a book published by a founder of Great Smokies Labs. Download it and read it with a text editor. http://members.shaw.ca/duncancrow/liver-function.txt Duncan > > I'm doing the Medifast diet.
