Guest guest
I know that it is the sugar that feeds the yeast...not the yeast. and I have heard various answers to this question. (both DS and I have candida.) You can eat bread w/ yeast..right?? just not the sugar. I appreciate all the discussion here and not looking for a breakdown of the 'good the bad and the ugly' on the grains. Just would like to know if yeast does feed the yeast..and if it is ok unless there is a yeast allergy. do people w/ candida also have more potential for yeast allergy? (also just as an fyi- there is perfection...and then there is doign an anti-candida diet for an autistic 8 yo... when you don't do it perfect it is my opinion that you can still see benefit. I have seen that for myself and DS. Sometimes it is what it is. It is good to have goal however...of the right grains..and the right fruits... but w/ DS to get him to take certain things..... i have to mix w/ a bit of pear sauce, or give him a sip of diluted pear juice. like i said..it is what it is.. and I have still seen some benefit for both of us. Still we eat basically ZERO sugar. I did make some awesome muffins from an SCD cookbook yesterday however! Almond flour!) Guest guest
Amy your example, bread, is a high starch product. No starch either. Brewers and Bakers yeast is used in some anti-candida probiotics because it outcompetes candida without feeding it. Yeast itself is OK but there are indications that pressure cooking yeast may expose some sugars to feed candida as the cell walls beak down, so live yeast is probably better.
