Guest guest
Hi Donna Gates was in Atlanta last Friday talking about how Bodyecology is treating autism and I think her seminar was very helpful in dealing with yeast overgrowth (which these kids have). I had already been doing the kefir (not coconut...but I started it this week). I gotten great results with the kefir so I am open to her diet. In addition, many of things she does is in the Maker's Diet (which I have been doing for a about 3 months). So I would encourage anyone to try Bodyecology. Below are some helpful links. http://www.autismndi.com/news/display.asp?content=News & shownews=20040721140600 http://www.bodyecologydiet.com/coconutkefir.php http://www.bodyecologydiet.com/autism.php derrick_angela_2000 <derrick_angela_2000@...> wrote: Has anyone tried this, what did you think? Guest guest
Yes...I was there on Friday. I wish I could have gone to the cooking class on Saturday because my cultured vegetables don't taste like those samples. I started the coconut kefir, at first I thought I had done it wrong because mine fizzled. The other kefir I had made or bought always smelled like dough. Anyway, I am waiting on doing the grain drink. Starting Health Kinesology so I will probably start the drink once I clear some things. It has been pretty good so far.derrick_angela_2000 <derrick_angela_2000@...> wrote: Has anyone tried this, what did you think?> > > > > --------------------------------->

Guest guest
that would be lovely Caroline. It's the scariness that makes me want to evolve towards something without making huge changes. There's a book and a website -- what I've read so far sounds good. I'm going to try goats milk (when I can get some from Sainsbury's) so I'll let you know. I hardly ever clean anything xx Sally CarolineTraa@... wrote: In a message dated 17/02/2007 08:01:41 GMT Standard Time, bobsallyeva@ ntlworld. com writes: Has anyone tried this? Guest guest
Hey chris, I tried it for about 6months. It did nothing for my candida that i noticed, but i have to say that nothing really helped my candida until i had surgery for a cancerous tumor. Once i got rid of that i improved at a noticible rate. I think the candida was worse than the chemo i had to go thru. I truly feel for those of us who severly suffer with this candida. I do stick to a type of candida diet, but not as strictly now. I can have some foods without any reaction. Others will cause a slight reaction, but NOTHING like before. I beleive that something is underlying to create the candida to go so crazy. Once you get to that underlying thing, it gets easier. Just my opinion from what i have experienced. Guest guest
Hi I think the Body Ecology system is excellent. The thing is to follow *all* of the recommendations if possible, including the specialty products she sells. And remember it will take time to correct your issues. Apple cider vinegar is an excellent probiotic food (if raw which is best of course), probably others on this list can speak more authoritatively to it's properties. I know Donna recommends it to assist digestion, particularly proteins. ~ Stepanie Body Ecology Diet Was curious to know if anyone follows the Body Ecology Diet for yeast erradication. It is being used on Autistic kids with great success. Decided to do a liver cleanse this weekend & boy oh boy think I should have opted for lemon juice instead of grapefruit. The natural sugars in the grapefruit juice were just too high. I have a peculiar question. While I was preparing for the liver cleanse, I had to drink 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar in water 3x daily & I felt fantastic on the stuff. Now I am perplexed! Isn't apple cider vinegar supposed to kick the candida out of control? Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks ;o)
Guest guest
I'm curious about this too. I actually was seriously having a plateau with my weight loss for a while there. I recently removed lemon juice from my diet, and the weight loss picked up again, but now I'm having a lot of acne breakouts. I'm wondering if lemon juice helps with detox, but perhaps feeds candida at the same time? Guest guest
I have a friend who has a severely affected autistic child and the BED has helped tremendously with his yeast issues - i just started the diet for myself and my autistic 3 yr old - very slowly though - my son is terrible when it comes to trying foods and fermented food is even a bigger issue to get him to try - but so far i really like it - lisa c --------------------------------- Shape in your own image. Guest guest
Has anyone used or is using the Body Ecology Diet (BED) for their Candida? I plan on starting this soon and would like to hear from someone who has done it. I am making my first batch of homemade kimchi today. :-) Thanks! -Olif
Guest guest
Hi, Olif. In terms of my daily diet, I have been trying to follow the body ecology diet for over a year now. I definitely follow the food combining method (simply stated i.e., at a meal only eat proteins+veggies -or- starches+veggies -or- etc.). When I do not food combine, my symptoms reappear (even if the meal has no added sugar or refined foods). The book also advocates an 80/20 rule (80% veggies + 20% protein or starches) for each meal. I currently am on a 66/34 diet, but am working toward a 80/20 diet. The critical thing is that every meal I have a starch I eat a tablespoon of cultured veggies (i.e., fermented cabbage) to get probiotics with the meal. I read the chapter in the book about the blood type theory, but I am not sold yet on the whole blood type idea. Her general diet recommendations are not based on the blood type theory, so I was able to overlook it. Since I was diagnosed with candidiasis in 2004 by a naturopathic medical doctor, I think the most important thing the body ecology diet has done for me is help to strengthen my immune system and help heal my leaky gut which was most critical for me in the beginning stages of trying to get the candidiasis under control. I started the body ecology diet in June 2006. The book also really helped me to gain a better understanding of the importance of probiotics. The body ecology diet has been a way for me to transition to a lower-carb diet. - > > Has anyone used or is using the Body Ecology Diet (BED) for their Candida?
