Guest guest
We already know glutathione absorbs into bowel linng cells although if taken orally it would break down before it gets there. Obviously, glurtathione would be a good candidate for renentive enemas to relieve bowel lining damage. In this mouse model of colitis researchers induced similar relief with n-acetylcysteine saline enemas. Conclusion: (snip)...results suggest that NAC may be effective in the treatment of colitis through its up-regulating PON1 and scavenging oxygen-derived free radicals.(/snip) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19034653?ordinalpos=2 & itool=EntrezSystem2.PEn\ trez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum People on this list with Crohn's or colitis or even severe bowel irritation may want to try it. We nkow the glutahtione works in humans but human studies haven't been done on the NAC. Still, it couldn't harm either. Note similar research in the right-hand box.
