Guest guest
I think its all to do with moderation. I don't believe things like small amounts of butter would be detrimental to health. Much more likely these highly processed vegetable oils and hydrogenated fats are the culprit. Dee -- Ovarian Cancer+saturated fat Saturated fat consumption was positively associated with ovarian cancer risk (odds ratio 1.20 for each 10 g/day of intake; 95% confidence interval 1 03-1.40). Unsaturated fat showed no association. Egg consumption was associated with increased risk, but this may have resulted from disease-related changes in the eating habits of the case subjects. Carotenes and vegetable fiber were associated with decreased risk (odds ratio 0.63 for each 10 g/day of vegetable fiber; 95% confidence interval 0.49-0.80). Fruit and cereal fibers showed no effect. Guest guest
Hi Bonnie: Some clarifications needed in the data below: 1. Does the odds ratio mean that there is 20% increased risk for ovarian cancer from each 10 g per day consumption of saturated fats, at the given confidence level? So if consumption is higher at 20 g per day, does it mean an increased risk of 40%? 2. What saturated fat was used? Was it purified saturated fat? Or just the common sources of saturated fat: lard, tallow and other animal fats, and coconut oil. Thanks for whatever further info available. Guest guest
Tony: I didn't look into it any further, it was a small study done I believe, here in Ontario, Canada but I should go and see what more I can find. In the meantime Tony, why don't you see what you can find out about this? Bonnie Re: Ovarian Cancer+saturated fat Hi Bonnie: Some clarifications needed in the data below: 1. Guest guest
Bonnie, I searched for the literature in the website of NCI as indicated in your post. I could not find it there. I have read and heard several testimonies about use of VCO against cancer. An Oncologist here in Manila has been using our VCO for almost 2 years now as part of some of his protocol for stage 4 cancers. But most proximate to me is the experience of my cousin with 3 young children, who, shortly after the death of her husband, was diagnosed of stage 4 breast cancer, and was told that she had 6 months of possible life left. She did not undergo medical treatment. Instead she took daily fresh carrot juice and VCO. More than 12 months has already passed since her diagnosis, she is getting better and back to attending to her family. Hopefully it will continue.
