Subject: help-candida diet for vegetarians

I have been unable to do the candida diet because I'm vegetarian and

cutting out grains makes me lose weight. I am trying to recover from

anorexia and the candida diet seems impossible for me to be able to

get all the calories I need. Does anyone have tips on how to get enough

calories and fat on a vegetarian candida diet? Thanks!

Hi,

Try eating a serving of grains per day. I'm eating Quinoa and wild rice still

AND am eating about 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil per day and this has helped

me not too loose too much weight.

Like you, I've had food eating issues (mostly binging) and after being on the

diet for only two weeks (with NO carbs) my husband commented that he's worried

I'm becoming anorexic after I lost 6 pounds in 2-3 weeks (since I exercise 3X

per week, the weight loss is already a problem). I cannot eat any form of

dairy, wheat or eggs, so there's not much left to eat.

The diet is nearly impossible. I have NO idea how people do it.

lulubuns, vegetarians need to increase certain proteins they are

lacking in their diet in order to build up. This is more than fat and

carbs. The proteins are available in whey and in eggs, so I suggest

using whey and eggs, the best body building proteins, if you prefer to

not have meat.

Body builders who switched from animal to soy protein started to lose

muscle mass right away in the research.

And, losing the grains and other heavy starch and sugar foods is

practically a requirement in an anti-candida diet. Your diet helped to

bring on the candida.

Further on vegetarian diets, amino acid deficiencies often occur

unless the vegan vegetarian takes specific precautions such as going

lacto-ovo or supplementing. This page is a good summary:

http://www.biblelife.org/amino.htm

Personally, I don't treat vegans or, as Beck of blood

electrifier fame words it, " other sub-conscious death-wishers " ,

because their diets will often defeat one's best intentions.

Yes, I agree amino acids are important. I like " All natural Bragg Liquid

Aminos " . You can get it in the health food store. Jack Lalane was sickly until

he went to a Braggs seminar and started implementing healthy things such as

juicing and exercising, etc. _www.bragg.com_ (http://www.bragg.com)

I do not agree with calling vegans " sub-conscious death-wishers " . That is

ridiculous, extremest thinking and untrue! And if eating meat was the cure

then everyone on this list would be completely cured because 99.9% eat an

abundance of meat, whey and barely any carbs .... and they are still here

complaining of illness. Eating an abundant meat diet is not the answer. Do you

know

how much cancer and disease is caused by eating meat? I personally know

three people who changed to a " healthy new diet " of eating the candida diet or

Atkins diet who are now dead from cancer. This concerns me. And they swore they

felt better the year(s) before on this new diet. I also personally know 2

people who had a typical American diet and got cancer and then went to a vegan/

raw diet with lots of juicing and have been cancer free and healthy for

years. It takes a long time to digest meat and especially if your digestion is

not working right it will rot in intestines. However, I do think it is unwise

to be extreme in eating foods. It is important to make sure you get all the

vitamins and minerals you need. However, eating an abundance of meat is very

hard on the body especially when you are sick. I am seeing more and more

people on that diet of meat and vegetables (morning, noon and night) having

huge

health crisis' of cancer and other problems. And the many studies that are

shown are flawed. What they don't tell you is that most of the Eskimos eat

much of their meat and fat RAW! Cooking meat makes it carcigenic. And they

are eating fresh meat not meat that is sitting around in supermarket mixed

with a zillion other dead animals, with dye in it to make it look fresh because

no one would buy and eat grey old meat. Yes, you can get some important

vitamins and minerals from meat but you also get concentrated toxins. The

United

States is one of the biggest meat eating countries and we have the most

disease. Not to mention most of those parasite people carry around are from

the

MEAT they ate. The people on this list that have said they feel cured.. when

emailing them privately they do confess they Juice and Eat good carbs such as

Brown Rice once a day and do not eat Meat morning, noon and night. You'll

even notice the Jordin Rubin is concentrating less on eating so much meat and

shares recipes for RAW foods which give you more vitamins and minerals.

Something to think about. It's IMBALANCE that contributed to sickness. Most

of

that imbalance came from (regardless if you eat meat, vegetarian or vegan)

eating quick and fast processed foods that did not give your body nutrition &

added toxins.

Hi,

I do think that vegetarians often have good reasons to eat the way that they do.

Often it is because they are truly trying their best to either do good in the

world because they care about animals or because they really believe it is the

best thing for their health.

I don't agree that vegetarianism is the best thing for health in the slightest

but I applaud anyone who makes an effort to take control of their health, even

if I don't think they will have success that way.

I did cure my candida issues and all of my health issues. I did do this with

eating mostly meat and coconut oil, with some low carb veggies. My only issue

at this point is that I still have weight I want to lose, even though I've lost

about 75% of what I need to. While I eat a very good diet, unfortunately diet

alone is not enough to get the rest of the weight off for me.

About 7 months ago I started a new job that has me working longer hours and

spending nearly 2 hours a day commuting, and since then I have not been able to

fit in much exercise at all, compared to what I used to do. I'm currently

looking for a new job that might give me more freedom with my schedule so I can

get back to exercising and get the rest of my weight off.

I know that for me I followed low carb the majority of the time for 14 years,

but it wasn't until I buckled down and got my head straight that I was able to

turn around my candida issues. This meant cutting out things like dairy and

nuts that are low carb but may cause issues with candida.

It took me two years of strict dieting and no cheating what so ever to get

things turned around. I think the problem for many people tends to be that it

is a difficult diet to stick to and that people end up cheating a lot. I know

that I had to basically make it like a life-or-death situation for myself and

view preparing appropriate food and having it at all times available as my

highest priority in order to really stick with it.

I start each day with preparing my food for the day, and I don't go anywhere

unless my food is ready to go. This means I will be late if I don't have my

food taken care of. Fortunately I've learned how to prepare it very quickly, in

about 15 minutes, so it doesn't usually hold me up much.

I also know that for me eating a primarily meat and and fat diet cured many

diseases I had including pre-diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol,

psoriasis, candida, chronic fatigue, arthritis.. the list goes on.

Our ancestors were hunter gatherers, not vegetarians. We evolved eating meat

and lots of it. So while I respect your choice to be a vegetarian, I do not

agree that it will give better health at all.

Debby,

Are you concerned about parasites or any bacterias when eating raw or rare meat?

I know grass-fed is the best by far, but to my limited knowledge you can still

be dealing with those little beasties.

No, not really. So far I've only eaten raw liver and I haven't really eaten it.

I cut it up in small pieces and swallow whole without chewing. I can't stand

the taste so this is the only way I get it down.

If I were to get parasites there are a ton of natural remedies like wormwood and

walnut shells that would knock it out. Also some spices you can eat with the

meat actually are anti-parasitic and make a good compliment to the meat. I'll

have to look up what those are again.
