I understand from previous posts that the Acidophilus EATS the Candida (or the

sugar), wether that's true or not, I don't know but it has helped me out in the

past before, when I was trying to figure out what was going on, that 12

Acidophilus pills would quiet everything down.

I thought it was the bifidus bacteria that did most of the good work in the

gut? Dee

Guys, I believe the Bifidus is most prominent in the large intesting, I think my

problem is in the small intestine.

Thanks for the reply Duncan, and the best of wishes for the coming

celebration! Dee

That's right, Dee; bifidobacteria can control all the rest including

lactobacilli as it produces a stronger acid. What's more, the (acetic)

acid is a direct food for the bowel lining, unlike the weaker (lactic)

acid produced by the lactobacilli.

Yes, I read something about it somewhere, but didn't translate it correctly.

Thanks for that.

Re: Jitters from sugar

Bonnie, acidophilus does not eat candida; it competes with candida for

carbohydrate food and produces lactic acid to curb its growth, that's

all.
