Guest guest
Hello all, I have posted once in the past and read all of your posts. Some seem pretty educated on the Candida disease. I sometimes think I am...but there are so many conflicting statements in books, the internet, and word of mouth. I'm scheduled to see a doctor who specializes in this but the appointment is not until the end of June. I have started a diet and have been on it for two 1/2 months. I also take lots of pills which might be a mistake. I rotate every two weeks this is an example of my two week rotation -1 selenium a day -2 tablespoons of Inulin a day -3 cups of Pau D'arco tea -2 SF722 pills a day -3 Pau D'arco pills a day -5 yeast fighters pills a day -2 oil of oregano pills a day -3 olive leaf pills Now, after two weeks I switch and take the following: -1 selenium a day -2 tablespoons of Inulin a day -3 cups of Pau D'arco tea -5 yeast fighters pills -3 caprilic acid pills -3 cat's claw -3 olive leaf extract pills -2 garlic pills Also, twice a week I will squeeze 15 drops of grapefruit seed extract in a glass of water and drink that too. Am I taking this too far? Am I killing an internal body part or my whole self? Thanks for the help. By the way, the Pau D'aro tea makes me feel great I feel so darn energized...like I want to bounce of walls. DSB
Guest guest
Hi there, Out of curiosity what are SF722 pills? Your rotating protocols sound intense...are you also taking probiotics? From what I understand taking the probiotics at opposite times as the rest what you are taking is crucial, so all your antifungals etc...in the first half of the day and your probiotics at bedtime or something to that affect. I agree about Pau D'arco, it is a wonderful and I always feel great when I drink it regularly. Which brand do you buy? Guest guest
Sounds good to me. You have many different yeast killers in there, so unless you are getting bad die off, good for you. I only tried the pau d'arco pills, never the tea - seems I was missing out :-) Keen Too many pills, am I killing myself? Hello all, I have posted once in the past and read all of your posts. Guest guest
I, too, have recently started taking a lot of antifungals and having no experience of die off, although I've been on the diet and other recommended supplements for about 3 months. A few questions, my die off in general, was not too bad - a little lower leg cramping was about it. So what does this mean, if anything? If one's die off isn't bad (and is strict with the diet) does that mean one is not as sick? Also does anyone know what is the role of exercise in all of this? I have worked out consistently for years and wonder if that helped lessen the severity of the die off, as sweating is certainly a good way to remove toxins from the body. Guest guest
How is your candida? With all this, I would think it should be gone by now! I hope you're drinking lots of water. If you still have symptoms then there is something else going on in your body like possibly one or more of your detoxification pathways are not functioning correctly or liver congestion. Do you feel clear-headed? Mercury and candida overgrowth symptoms are almost the same and they usually co-exist. Don't worry, none of this will kill you but it does seem a bit excessive. Guest guest
>Thanks for the feedback! I take Pau D'arco tea made by Traditional Medicinals (caffeine free) from the Wild Oats organic store. SF722 promotes healthy gut flora and helps balance the bodies ph levels. It gives serious die off if you follow the diet correctly. I'm taking probiotics...just two a day called acidophilis bifidus. I keep them in the frig. Thanks again > Hi there, > Out of curiosity what are SF722 pills? Your rotating protocols sound > intense...are you also taking probiotics? Guest guest
What happens when you think your well and stop taking all the pills? Does the candida and all of the symptoms just come back when we get back our " normal life " ...or are we healed? Keen Venables <kvenables@...> wrote: Sounds good to me. They are " Formula SF722 " from Thorne Research. It's a formulation of undecylenic acid, which is around 6 times as effective as caprylic acid. Some people have reported excellent results with the product. Here's some info on undecylenic acid. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0FDN/is_1_7/ai_83582819 Here's Thorne's web page (not much info). http://www.thorne.com Mike
Guest guest
Well, that's a hard question and one I'm not that sure of the answer to. I'm not 100% healed as my leaky gut is still causing major problems. But I would say that common sense says that you should be on some sort of maintenance diet and dosage for a while. This is how I would do it - reduce the numbers of pills being taken (for instance, cut the anti-fungals out and rather pay more attention to nutrition), start to slowly re-introduce foods that you had a problem with. Take it slowly and test out the waters. I think that you might always be prone to a candida overgrowth, so you must be careful not to overdo the sugar. Healthy eating should be second nature by now, so probably a good idea to continue. Allowing yourself to have some unhealthy things (not too often, I would say) shouldn't be a problem. If you get a resurgence, then a month or so back on the anti-fungals should probably do it. Of course, this is speculation as we are not there yet. Keen Too many pills, am I killing myself? Guest guest
SF-722 was one of the antifungals I used, and I found it to be very effective. W

So what does this mean, if > anything? If one's die off isn't bad (and is strict with the diet) > does that mean one is not as sick? Leg cramps can be a side effect of a low-carb diet. When you lower your carb intake, your insulin level drops. Insulin causes your cells to hold onto sodium, so a lowered insulin level causes you to flush sodium out of your system. Potassium and other electrolytes can go with the sodium, which leaves you in an imbalance that causes cramps. The low-carb references recommend taking potassium, calcium, and magnesium during the initial phase of the diet. > Also does anyone know what is the role of exercise in all of this? I find that exercise helps me stay on the diet, reduces cravings, and improves my sense of well-being. When I go on a low-carb diet (which I've gone on and off at least a dozen times), the first couple of weeks are much easier when I've been exercising.
