The only MVIs/Minerals I recommend currently are Bariatric advantage or Optisource by Norvartis. I am in the process of making a list of acceptable products - So far it includes - Beneprotein, Benefiber, Isopure 0 carb protein drink, and Unjury protein.

EAS products such as Precision that comes in Ready to drink bottles have a fruit punch flavor, 20oz for 40g whey protein.

New Powders available at Vitamin DIscount/GNC are Whey fruity....just to add something for people who still desire that Crystal light flavor...

I prefer the Bariatric Advantage line of supplements because they also offer Novartis products in case a client needs special items. They also have an impressive Non Flavored Protein for 14$ with recipes

I use Novartis Glutasolve because the price can't be beat for 15g of GLutamine per easily dissolved packet....very nice for someone who needs additional supplementation for healing.

Hope that helps

I use a few of their products in my office. A little expensive, but overall

I feel they are a solid manufacturer committed to research and quality

products.

Hi Buddy

I have just purchased some inulin from them so will let you know how it goes. It

was really cheap by the way - just $4.99.

Hi Tina,

I'm taking them now and have in the past. I've been told they are a good

quality of course by the people who sell them and they are very expensive.

Are you talking about their undenatured whey? I used it once time when I first

started the using whey about two months ago. It is a high quality product

supposedly free of hormones. It is a bit pricey. I bought mine at www.needs.com

for about $27 less shipping and it is only 10.6 oz with 2 scoops giving you

about 20 grams. So, I went through it rather quickly. Also, on the website it

said that it only had undenatuired whey list in the ingredients, but the bottle

I received said added soy. I was concerned that it was soy protein. I'm not

allergic to soy, but don't think its a healthy food, at least for me. I called

Metagenics, who said that the soy was actually a small amount of lecithin.

Lately I've been using the Source Naturals and the Jarrow. I wish Jarrow would

make a whey that was guaranteed hormone free.

I've looked around for cheaper rates for metagenics but only come up with the

same amount or more so far.

Hope this helps,

Buddy,

Thank you for the input. Can you say if their multi vitamin is

good? Is it whole food? Could you benefit better by taking say

Spirulina and other greens instead of their multi?

My new doctor sells them exclusively. I am having a spectra cell test

run right now so I wanted to get a little knowledge before the

results come out and he recommends a bagillion Metagenics products!

If you don't mind!

:)

I am a believer in whole food supplements, so no, I do not like their

multivitamin. However, back when I didn't know anything about whole food

supplements, I really liked their multi.

I mainly use metagenics for their medical foods, like the ultraglycemix

mentioned in the other post. Yes, they are expensive, but they work for

those specific conditions. I use them for people that need serious help or

if someone is not willing to greatly change their diet. I like the Ultra

InflamX for rheumatoid arthritis. I've only given it to a few patients, but

it has made enough of a difference that they continue to purchase this

'expensive' supplement.

Here's what I take personally. I have borderline high BP and cholesterol

(not that cholesterol matters, but it cant hurt to bring it down a little),

so I drink two shakes a day using one scoop of Metagenics Ultrameal and 2

scoops of whey (I use it to wash down my selenium!). I take Standard

Process's whole food multi, Catalyn. Out of Standard Process's line, I

alternate between Allergy support, liver support, and adrenal support

products. It depends what is going on at the time or if I am having any

symptoms in those areas. If I feel like I'm getting sick, I start hitting

the Echinacea root and probiotics pretty hard.

Other than that, about once per quarter I'll do their cleanse program. That

consists of taking a couple of their shakes per day and taking a handful of

supplements to promote liver and kidney detox and digestive cleansing. Oh,

and they also cut out all refined foods and all meat except for fish

starting in week 2. They encourage eating plenty of green vegetables. I

havent studied the candida diet that much, but I imagine the two dietary

plans are pretty close. Who knows how much good it does, but I cant tell you

how good I feel when I'm doing it. I wish I had the willpower to follow

that all of the time.

Buddy,

Thank you so much! I was going to ask you what you took - you read

my mind!!! Is there a Metagenics product for Leaky Gut? I thought I

heard someone at the doctor's office mention it. I think that is my

biggee right now - I dont think I am absorbing the vitamins I am

taking. I have also heard colostrum helps but I don't know much

about that.

Have you ever had a Spectra Cell test run (tests your nutrient

deficiencies)? My doctor just did one on me but I don't have the

results back yet. Was wondering if you had heard of it and recommend

it.

Thanks again for your time,

Tina

I'm sure they have the supplements one would recommend for leaky guy

syndrome, but I dont know if there is a specific formula for the condition.

I think their UltraInflamx would be good for that. Or maybe it's the

ClearPlus or Sustain or something like that. I dont use too many of their

products, so I dont know.

I never got into the nutritional testing all that much, so I don't know much

about the Spectra Cell test.
