Ringing Ears

I have extremely low blood pressure, and have never had an ear

infection in my life. Part of my candida overgrowth is that my immune

system has been in overdrive most of my life. I think I have had a

cold/flu twice in all of my 35 years. I did not get tinnitus until

recently. I have been treating my candida for about ten months. I

don't seem to have any other symptoms. I am not stuffy, don't have

excessive wax, or anything else I can relate to it. I have been

sleeping without a pillow for a while now and wondered if I was just

putting too much pressure on my ear(s) with my head on the mattress??

But, I am pretty sure that it is candida at the root of it. Just

looking for ways to relieve it in the mean time. I have not taken

zinc, but will likely try it. I think the other vits suggested for

tinnitus are covered- magnesium, selenium, calcium, and vit b's. I

have also read gingko and black cohash may help. Has anyone tried

these? I found several sites that recommend acupuncture. Anyone?

Thanks again.

I agree that my selenium is o.k. I took another 200 mcg after your

first post and saw no difference...

We had our water tested this summer when we updated our filtration

system (well water). It was all in the normal range. Is it possible

to have an infection and not have any other side effects other than

the tinnitus? I will check into the oxone therapy. If it doesn't go

away or lessen it may be worth looking in to. Do you have any

opinion or experience with acupuncture treatment for tinnitus? In

the mean time I have my ear plugs in, which seems to at least help

the pressure a bit...

Thanks again.

That will be something I pay attention to. However, I usually wake

up with the pressue then the ringing/humming builds once I am moving

about, and it progresses through the day. I don't eat any dairy

except butter, don't have any known allergies, and don't think I have

had anything unusual or new lately but I will definately try to take

note of things I've eaten before an episode. Thanks

which sometimes happens when we have allergies to food or inhalant

allergies or a viral infection of some kind. This happens to me when

I have a cold OR when I eat ice cream or cheese. The ringing seems to

be a part of that situation.

I know you're looking for natural remedies and if you find some, let

me know. I take Sudafed 12 hr in the morning. It unstuffs me and

continues to all day long. Best OTC drug out there.

You need to have your low blood pressure figured out. I would venture to

guess that is a major part of your tinnitus.

It sounds like you've tried a lot of things. Have you see a naturopath or a

chiropractor that uses nutritional therapy? You describe several issues

that would need to be addressed in order to even begin to help your

tinnitus.

Also ringing ears (which my husband has) can be caused by nerve damage he was

told, from loud noises, like using a gun.

Now you're saying that the noise builds, which might be a problem in the

Labrynth, called (in some cases) Meniere's Syndrome.

Have you tried applying coconut oil in the ears? I've used this before

successfully to treat ear infections. Couldn't hurt right?

On the well water, there is no normal range for arsenic, and the US

EPA lets you take in about 20 times the levels that start to produce

illness.

Sorry, I have nothing concrete on acupuncture.

No, I haven't tried that yet, but am interested. Do you put it in

with a q-tip or melt it and drip it in? If you drip it in how much?

I am on day three where this is just knocking the life out of me.

Still no sign of an infection, or anything else new... Thanks Debby

You don't really need to measure anything. Melt the coconut oil just till it's

liquid. Test it to make sure it's not too hot. Use an eye dropper or a baby

medicine dropper to put in your ear. Lay on your side, let the coconut oil go

into your ear and sit for a minute or two. Repeat on the other side. You can

do this several times a day. Adding garlic oil will be an even stronger

antifungal.

I have tinnitus and for a while I was taking 4 drops of iodine and 1gr of Amour. I have stopped this about 1 month ago and now the ringing seems to be getting louder again (never completely went away). What do you think made it go away the iodine or the amour? I quit going to the dr because I couldn't afford $75 every 6 months + the tests he wanted me to do. Any input would be nice and is there somewhere I could get amour w/o a prescription? Thanks so muchPenny

I have also been taking ginkgo biloba now for about 2 months. I was taking Dr.

Rons but he has since stopped selling it on it's own and his deep thoughts w/GB

is too expensive so I am trying future biotics product called Thinkfast which

also has vinpocetine in it which I also heard helps tinnitus. What product do

you take Kathleen?
