Guest guest Posted January 25, 2007 Report Share Posted January 25, 2007 Bonnie, I prefer inulin because FOS is a short chained minor waste fraction of inulin that has less of the good attributes in that it appeals to a lot of bacteria we don't want. If you are taking a high- dose probiotic approach with it the FOS will work fine, but you should know it's less well-tolerated than inulin because it ferments faster and produces more gas. With the label saying FOS-inulin, the company could actually mean it's native inulin, which many people mistakenly think is FOS. It is not, but there can be FOS in it.
