Guest guest
Debby, Well this is odd -- as I mentioned in a previous post, I had tried Now's stevia many times over the past 5 years and it always had a bitter aftertaste. BUT that is their powdered stevia in the plastic bottles. Last week I remembered your post and wondered if perhaps their stevia in packet form was any different... The packets mention rice maltodextrin as another ingredient, which is not put into the plastic bottled form. What to my surprise -- the packet form IS SWEET w/o an aftertaste!!! SO thanks!!!!!!!!! I bought 3 boxes - the plain, the French Vanilla, and the one w/inulin. I have not used the one with inulin yet -- having just seen 's post I will refrain from trying it. I am too scared to try anything if it can feed candida. On a side note, I have been taking 2-4 gr. of l-glutamine for the past 2 mos. for another purpose, but since I started using it my tummy has barely given me a problem like I used to have w/candida ando/or leaky gut. I wonder if it's healing my tummy??? Thanks again Debby!! dorothy > > I use NOW brand stevia and find it tastes great, and so do a few of my super-taster friends. > > > Luv, > Debby in San , CA > 147 pounds lost! 100% of health issues reversed! > Group: curingcandida/ > Website: http://www.naturallythriving.com > Studying nutrition for 13 years. Guest guest
Dorothy, Try Sweet Leaf or Stevita stevia they don't have a bad after taste, and the processing is a high quality. Some of the Stevita products are I believe also organic. Be careful, some brands of stevia have added things like dextrose. > From: carolineks2001 <carolineks2001@...> > > Well this is odd -- as I mentioned in a previous post, I > had tried > Now's stevia many times over the past 5 years and it > always had a > bitter aftertaste. Guest guest
Hi Dorothy, As someone else mentioned, maltodextrin is sugar so I wouldn't use the other NOW Stevia blends. The kind I use is in a little plastic jar and has no fillers. I used to find stevia had a bitter after-taste even with my limited taste buds. I decided to try it again after people mentioned different brands had better tastes. I'm happy with the taste of the NOW brand plain version, and a little goes a long way. I make cookies for my little one and hubby with ground nuts (macadamia is their favorite), stevia and eggs and it's a healthier treat and they love it. I'm not as familiar with the effects of l-glutamine as I would like to be so I can't comment on the effects of it. I take it because it helps with sugar cravings. By far the biggest helper with cravings for me is chromium. If I don't take my chromium supplements each and every day I do notice cravings right away. I think with whey and inulin each person is going to have different results. I have heard some great results with it, and I've heard some people it doesn't work for. What I would recommend is start with a low carb anti-candida diet like the one I recommend: http://www.naturallythriving.com/basics/cfd.php (just step one) Then after a while when you see how you feel on this type of diet and your symptoms/results are pretty stable, try adding in the other items and see how it effects you. I'm all for trying new things and seeing how they work for you. I just think that many people don't have things stable before trying new things, which is why it can get confusing. I think it's hard to listen to what your body is saying when you don't have things stable. I actually followed the diet for more than a year before trying any other supplements or treatments. By the time I did I was really able to distinguish healing reactions and die-off from food intolerances. My symptoms were very stable for a long time, and then when I introduced different things I got symptoms but they were very different depending on whether they were die-off or food intolerance for me. For instance die-off for me was nausea, headaches and skin eruptions. Food intolerance was cravings and extreme fatigue. There were a few symptoms that overlapped that I had with both but there were definite symptoms that I only got with one or the other, and not with both. Well that's what worked for me.. hope that helps! Luv, Debby in San , CA 147 pounds lost! 100% of health issues reversed! Guest guest
Hi Jacky, I noticed a difference within a day or two. The thing is that chromium may not be a deficiency for you, so it may make no difference for you. I guess I tend to be deficient in chromium. Also if I cheat on my diet, it can take a week of strict dieting before I can get my cravings back under control. Luv, Debby in San , CA 147 pounds lost! 100% of health issues reversed! Guest guest
Any thoughts on the best form of chromium? I've heard that some are better and/or safer than others? Is that true? Guest guest
The chromiumpolynicotinate from what I have read is supposed to be better for youand more readily assimilated. It also had less side effects at highdoses. The polynicotinate is bound with niacin which may explain thebenefits. Luv, Debby in San , CA 147 pounds lost! 100% of health issues reversed! Guest guest
I don't buy Stevia for economic reasons however the plant grows easily enough and can be dried and used in your tea without problem.
Guest guest
A lay-person friend checked your website and thought it is not a bad set of suggestions. He uses a rotation diet, like the one at www/mall-net.com/mcs/rotate.html as when his body gets run down, leaky gut syndrome develops, and that often triggers arthritic symptoms if they are not already present. That was the big thing for him, because he had leaky gut - though he realises we are all different. Stuck on the rotating diet for over 20 years, as long as he kept the rotation going, his joints were ok, and he found some things were not as critical as other foods. However he says he did have to keep the rotation up, or notice more general problems. But a few things, he could not touch even on rotation. He's recently become involved with some investigational dietary items that seem to be improving his leaky gut and related problems. He hired a medical research consultant, which is very expensive but he's getting far better results on optimisation of his health than from Western Bio Medicine doctors. Guest guest
Hi, I've found I don't have to rotate things. I eat the same things over and over, and if they work for me they continue to work. However nutrition needs to change over time, so I wonder if that is why what he does works for him? Luv, Debby in San , CA 147 pounds lost! 100% of health issues reversed!
