Guest guest
Hi Tonya, My sleepiness started about 2 weeks ago, too, give or take a few days. I don't understand if it's from lack of sleep, then why would the afternoons and evenings be better? Looks like a person would get even more tired throughout the day. I don't know much about the plateau. My thoughts is that if you've went a couple weeks or more without losing then I would consider myself to be on a plateau. I wonder if our bodies just need a break from losing or something? I will say, too, that I just can't imagine you truly gaining 3-6 pounds of fat. That could be 3-6 pounds of water. Do you weight first thing of a morning and are your scales accurate? I try to weight first thing of a morning after I've emptied my bladder (of course), with no clothes on. Just don't get discouraged, Tonya... Even though it's really hard not to keep watching for the weight to fall off, try not to worry about it so much, just know that it is going to come off. You're not going to stop at 41 Pounds, I'm sure of that! You're doing great! Around Mother's Day I didn't lose anything for a couple of weeks and then right before my 2 month anniversary I dropped like 3 pounds and then 1/2 pound for the 3 days following. Yours may come off li! ke that too. Keep me posted - - - I'll be your cheerleader! Your Oklahoma Friend, Hi almost littermate , I'm writing, not because I have any answers for you, but because I'm experiencing the same thing. I think some of mine may be lack of sleep - I'm only getting about 6 hours a night so that may have something to do with it. I noticed that it started about 2 weeks ago or so - how about yours? I also notice that I have alot more energy in the afternoons and evenings which is what is making it difficult to get enough sleep. Let me know if you find anything out!! Another issue I need help with is the fact that at a little over 2 months post op I seem to be on a plateau - actually, someone needs to tell me what " qualifies " as a plateau. On my 2 month anniversary I was at 279 which was down 41 lbs from surgery. Now I'm somewhere between 282 and 285 (obviously moving in the wrong direction). Is it common to gain a few pounds through this process? Is it common to go for a few weeks here and there without losing?? Even this early in the game?? I've been a little preoccupied with the number of calories I've been eating lately too and I don't know if that's helping or hindering me. I'm averaging somewhere between 900 -1100 calories a day. Is that normal?? Any advice or reassurances would be greatly appreciated!! Tonya in MN 3-28-01 Dr. R. 320 / 282 (today) / 160 Sleepy Hi All, I've hear some discussion recently about being REALLY tired. At the time I was feeling better than I had in a LONG time, so I didn't pay attention to when the exhaustion seemed to set in. But let me tell you I'm not feeling that " refreshed " now! I am SOOOO tired of a morning, I fight to stay awake in my office. This has been going on for a few weeks now. I have sleep apnea and still use my CPAP machine, so I don't feel like that's my problem. I first thought I was mentally tired which was making me physically tired from my break up with the boyfriend. But I'm thinking now that isn't the problem. I get about 8 hours of sleep a night, and seem to sleep pretty good. I take my mulit-vits 3x per day, vitamin E once a day, along with the other required post-op meds. Oh, and I started last week taking a liquid subligual (finally know what that is :-) called Perfect B. It's got all the B vits in it. My pharmacy didn't have just subligual B-12 (but they are ordering me some)! . Anyone know what my problem c ould be? Is this just something post-op's go through at 2 months post-op? I had my surgery 3/29/01. When will I quit feeling so sleepy all the time? Oh, of an afternoon, I normally start feeling better, but the mornings are MISERABLE! Thanks for any help you can give me. Guest guest
I will turn 30 on September 28th - - - If I'm as old as I feel then I must really be 70! LOL Here lately anyway, I've felt about 70. My age shouldn't be the problem I don't think. And I don't think of 38 as being old either. My Precious Daddy died suddenly of a massive heart attack at age 55, and I didn't consider him " old. " I always feel that he was taken at such a young age! __________________________________________________-- how old is old? everytime i get older, " old " seems to get further away. does 38 constitute " old " ? Guest guest
I am having the same problem! I do not take my vitamins like I am supposed to so I thought that was the problem. I am so tired until about 3 in the afternoon. I yawn hundreds of times a day. I am exercising regularly and average about 8 hrs of sleep a nite. Some nites I play tennis or softball or just walk my dog, but no matter what I choose to do, I'm exhausted! Does anyone have insight into this? Guest guest
, I felt the way you do several weeks ago. I started the subligual B-12 and the ZMA. After a couple of weeks, I felt better so I'm guessing one of them does something to boost your energy. I do think it takes a little while for them to build up in your system so you see the beneficial effects. Hope you feel more energetic soon! Guest guest
Hi , I'm not sure if my scale is accurate or not - I usually get on it about 3 times and take the best of the 3. lol. The other thing is that I'm on and off the scale about 10 times a day - at all different times of the day. I did join WW this week so that I could get an official weigh in each week and hopefully put my scale at home away. I'm really hoping that I don't stop at 41 lbs and somewhere deep down I know I won't - it's just those old fears of failure creeping up to haunt me. Thanks for the reassurance - it helps!! Guest guest
I think it is pretty normal for most people at that stage. It gets better. Hang on, and take a nap when you need it. Pat Sleepy Hi All, I've hear some discussion recently about being REALLY tired. Guest guest
gosh have you been to your doctor to check your vitamin level--I am not having this problem but I myself and not sure how others feel, I try to make sure I have my carbs in the morning an stick with proteins and veggies (low carb) in afternoon and evening --and space the vitamins out .. not sure if you are working it the same other than that I am figuring your system is missing something that is causing your energy , di Sleepy > > > Hi All, > > I've hear some discussion recently about being REALLY tired. Guest guest
I think some of my sleepiness I get is due to the fact I am sooooo much more active...I am going constantly so that when I sit down...I get soooooo tired...and want to nap. I think I am not used to doing all the things I am doing and my body is saying to slow up a bit...It hasnt done this much activity in yrs...lol Anyhow, I am hoping so anyway... take care Jeanne in NY --- Vellucci <LINDA.VELLUCCI@...> wrote: > yes, we are old > > Sleepy > > > Hi All, > > I've hear some discussion recently about being > REALLY tired.
