Gail, like you, I don't think it's necessary to use specific fat-

fiber-protein ratios, as we fall under a bell curve rather than all

conform to exactly the same metabolic ratio and need.

I think we can agree that the whole carb level of the food guide

could be disposed of.

Many people are not comfortable with all the fat promoted on

the " other " candida list we are familiar with, but saturated fat (not

unsaturated vegetable oils) is an excellent fuel the body can adapt

to. Generally, the diet is fine if you reduce the fat just a bit,

enough so you can get it all down without getting sick of it. You'll

know how you're doing when you hit the scale and do a body mass

index. Excess fat can increase your weight, and a good diet will get

you to the right weight/ BMI every time.

I question a lot of what's proposed on the other list too as you

know, and successes like yours, measured in months rather than years,

is proof that the other list's " friendly helpful " approach should be

refined (or at least the wording of their helpfulness changed ;). Put

another way, not refining their friendly but only marginally helpful

approach is pretty shabby, a disservice to the membership.

I haven't seen the candida myths compiled in a single email as far as

I can remember; there are several on the other list that we have

dealt with and many more on other candida lists and in candida and

inflammatory bowel disease books, such as the use of whole grains

(UGH!)
