Guest guest
So, this may sound stupid but what about heavy cream, isn't that milk fat? I love a tiny bit in my 1 cup of coffee a day. And also cream cheese? I've given it up but sure would love to make cheesecake, too. Thank you from a cream lover.
Guest guest
, Even if you're only five feet tall (of which I have NO idea), at about 95 pounds you bordering on being underweight--so, if you feel good, I wouldn't worry about it. J. -----Original Message-----From: RawDairy [mailto:RawDairy ]On Behalf Of Sent: Monday, April 27, 2009 9:33 AMTo: RawDairy Subject: Milk Fat I have always been thin/slender. I've found since I've been drinking raw whole milk (drank almond milk before) that I've gained about 8 pounds, which is about 8 1/2% of my normal body weight. I love how the milk tastes & how I feel, but I don't love the new shape/texture of my body. Would I benefit from drinking raw skim milk? How about whole milk kefir? Does it contribute to body fat as much as unfermented milk?TIA.

Guest guest
Anyone willing to give up some kefir > grains for some fresh goat's milk..I live in Ramona,CA..LJPS I'll be happy to send you some grains from raw cow's milk kefir if you still need them. To those of you who've mailed grains before, do you have to pack/ship in any special way?

Guest guest
This is so good to know. I'm so glad I posted my question! I love the whole, raw milk. I eat very little junk food, and the only sugar I get is in the form of wine (clue?). I'm 38 years old, 5'4 " -ish, and typically weigh about 105. Lately I fluctuate between 110-113. I don't exercise enough, but I do eat well. Lots of raw veggies, some fruits, mostly grass-fed meats, organic beans and grains, whole grain breads (but not a lot), whole raw milk, kefir, kombucha, cultured veggies, a little cheese (mostly raw), very little processed foods. I teach yoga, but don't get to practice much. My muscles are strong, and the extra bulk is accumulating mainly in my upper thighs, which I know is typical as women age, but I don't like it!!! ;-P Sounds like maybe I need to drink more whole milk instead of less. Thanks, y'all!

Guest guest
at 5'4 " and 105 pounds you are underweight according to this http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ It sounds to me like the wt gain was a good thing for you. I too gained some wt when I starting drinking raw milk but I was underweight to begin with so the wt. gain was good and others said I looked healthier. it took me some time to accept myself at a higher wt. but eventually I realized that I really did need to gain some wt. > > This is so good to know.
