Guest guest
BUSTING THE CANDIDA MYTHS Some of these myths are counterproductive to your health, and while some don't matter, all are part of a mythic structure that can safely be ignored. MYTH: Alcohol must be avoided because it feeds candida. FACT: Candida produces alcohol as a waste product; it doesn't live on its own waste. Just leave out the sugar; drink very dry wine or alcohol straight. MYTH: Mushrooms and yeast feed candida. FACT: Mushrooms and yeasts are primarily polysaccharides with an almost identical structure as candida cell walls. Candida can't eat itself and can't eat these either. Moreover, yeast is often a primary TREATMENT for candida in many anti-candida probiotic mixes, for good reason. MYTH: Undenatured whey is " dairy " , feeds candida. FACT: So what if it's dairy; it has had the problematic components removed, it doesn't feed yeast and it's part of the TREATMENT for it's glutathione production, the key immune booster and detoxifier of the " die-off " (Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction). MYTH: you don't need selenium supplements. FACT: Selenium is used to make your chief antioxidant; when selenium is high you are at lower risk with candidiasis. Selenium is part of the TREATMENT too, by increasing immune activity and detoxification of the " die-off " symptoms. MYTH: Inulin might feed candida. FACT: Inulin is part of the TREATMENT against candida because it doesn't feed it but specifically feeds probiotics that kill candida and other pathogens; inulin also improves immune response and feeds probiotics that feed the bowel lining cells and allows them to close up bowel lining gaps that lead to leaky gut syndrome. MYTH: Vinegar feeds candida. FACT: Vinegar is acetic acid, a short chain fatty acid that curbs candida growth, like any acid. It is one of the chief fatty acids produced by probiotic bacteria that lend an acidic environment to the bowel, an environment that kills candida, not supports it. MYTH: Brown rice, exotic seeds and grains and whole wheat are OK for candida and bowel disease sufferers. FACT: All high-carbohydrate foods not only directly feed candida but also other pathogenic organisms that lead to dysbiosis, thus paving the way for candidiasis and inflammatory bowel disease. In addition, each carb serving drops immune system activity by about half for about five hours, reduces metabolic rate and forces the body from regenerative mode into fat storage mode. MYTH: You have to accept die-off (Jarisch-Herxheimer effect) symptoms as a necessary part of clearing candida and bowel disorders. FACT: These are symptoms of toxicity, and a high antioxidant pool, especially the glutathione created by undenatured whey and selenium, are the chief toxin reducers in the body. When these are replenished, toxic sympoms are markedly reduced or eliminated.
Guest guest
Duncan - Thank you for this! I wish it were a file for newcomers to the group. I have been insisting on much of this for a long time. W
