Guest guest
Undenatured whey and selenium increases glutathione and energy production and reduces oxidative stress. Conversely, low energy and oxidative stress contributes to the progress of degeneration. So you want to keep glutathione levels high. This 2005 study points out, " With regard to mitochondrial [ATP energy generation] function, loss of glutathione is associated with impairment of the electron transport chain. ...Furthermore, restoration of cellular glutathione status could prove to be of therapeutic benefit in patients with a glutathione deficiency associated with their electron transport chain [actual energy production] defects. " http://tinyurl.com/yaqf3d People in ill health have demonstratably low glutathione levels, which is involved in progressive failure. In bowel disorders for example the glutathione is depleted systemically and can be completely so on the injured portion of the bowel wall, causing leaky gut and bowel perforation. So, although some people contend that paying attention to glutathione levels is non-essential, the research supports the reverse, that one would need " RESTORATION of cellular glutathione status " which requires much more undenatured whey (or other *concentrated* glutathione precursors) and selenium than none at all.
