Guest guest
Hello and Happy New Year. I am new and have been searching through some older posts and the files. I haven't come across any info on Diflucan resisant yeast. I'm wondering if I have it and if anyone can give any advice? I'm 37 and have had recurring perianal (rectal) yeast infections for years. I have a 6 month old baby and am breastfeeding. I know pregnancy can trigger yeast infections, but I never had any. I do not have thrush issues with breastfeeding either, thank god. I'm exhausted with the baby, stressed out, overweight, too tired to get my regular exercise, eating poorly and suffering from a lot of colds. I'm a wreck and barely hanging on. I'm sure I'm a lovely host for the yeast right now. I actually haven't had that many episodes over the past 5 years. I would say I've taken a single dose of Diflucan probably 5 times in the past 10 years and it has solved it. (never seem to have vaginal yeast infections). I took one 150mg dose at the end of November and that didn't do a thing. I took another 150mg 4 days ago and no relief! The only difference is that both of these were generic and I've always taken brand name before. The pharmacist said generic Diflucan is exactly the same, so I said ok. (I know full well that generic and brand are sometimes slightly different in the drug world, the pharmacist agreed with me but was positive the Diflucan generic and brand were the same) Some of my questions and I'm not expecting anyone to answer all of them, just wondering if anyone has any thoughts: 1. Could I have a Diflucan resistant yeast? If so, any suggestions? 2. I'm seeing that it seems like some folks here have been on longer courses of Diflucan, do you suggest that for me? How long? 3. Any thoughts on generic Diflucan? 4. Any knowledge of Candida treament while breastfeeding, should I not be taking a lot of Diflucan anyway? I have never been this uncomfortable and need some relief. My heart goes out to the many of you who seem to really be suffering. I can't even imagine. I send my strength and best wishes to you all. I thank everyone in advance for their help. I look forward to being a positive contributor to your forum. Many regards, MintCool@...
