Guest guest
Hi Group, Happy New Year! I resolve in 2007 to stay gluten-free. I recently found more reason to do so from some DVD lectures on health. One of them addressed the feeling of general malaise that many feel: that undefined set of symptoms not traditionally associated with a specific disease. The premise behind the lecture is that the parasite fasciola is partially responsible. This parasite thrives on guess what? Wheat (gluten and gliadin) and food oils. And what is the easiest way to rid yourself of this parasite? Starve it! I immediately thought of the nutritional principles advocated in this group: no gluten, and more recently the notion of eliminating polyunsaturated food oils. So I thought I'd share what I had learned. When my aunt was hungry, she used to say she needed to feed her tapeworm. I used to laugh, but seriously, isn't is apparent how addicted to wheat the vast majority of societies are? And I don't believe most people are aware of wheat consumption as an addiction. After all, it's the staple with which they grew up. So how could it possibly be a deleterious food? And how about those food oils that we've been brainwashed to believe are better for us than saturated fat? How many nutritionists still advocate they are good for us? I am thankful to be part of a group that aims to see beyond the norm and live a healthier life. In support of your New Year's resolution, Lori
Guest guest
I totally agree. When my friend and I used to eat tons of sugar we'd say the " kids " or " monster " needed to be fed - meaning the candida! Isn't that sick? I'm so glad to not be in that space anymore, but I certainly know the feeling. I guess you develop kind of a sick/super dry sense of humor to cope when you are so used to feeling so " different " . I too am committing to long-term care of me. I can now see the error of my ways. I'm glad I remain open-minded towards healing, and have finally realized that there are no quick fixes. Plus, that even on a raw diet, I will need to cut out all sugar, period, to beat this. Also, I was not getting enough probiotics and exercise. I am committing to these facets of my always-improving health care routine, and am thrilled to be doing so. 2007 will be the best year yet! a a Albanese School Of RAWk Certified Raw Chef, Raw Nutritionist and Health Coach Advanced Practitioner of The Living Foods Lifestyle www.SchoolOfRAWk.com Coming Soon!
