Breast milk is incredibly LOW in protein -- just under 5% of calories: http://www.breastfeedingbasics.org/cgi-bin/deliver.cgi/content/Anatomy/com_matur\ e.html > Similarly, goat milk is generally well tolerated even by babies > because it contains far less of the irritating kind of casein that's > in cow's milk. IN fact it's a beeter match for humans than cow's milk. Certainly it can't be as good for the baby as low-protein human milk. Guest guest
Yeah; I think I was just focusing on the part about it being the protein component that builds the baby mammal. The protein is part of that, but the sugars and fats (and obviously the micronutrients) are essential to building the baby mammal too. By the way, sorry for dropping the salt discussion out of the blue last month. I was very busy with school, GREs, applications, etc, and I'll have some time to resume the discussion in the next couple of weeks.
