Just my 2 cents - Emu oil is amazing at healing wounds and preventing

scarring. Some people use it straight. I have made a salve with a

few other oils with healing properties that I use. It works

wonderful for burns too. I burned my fingers, applied the Emu salve

immediately. It took the pain away and the next day you could not

even tell they had been burned. Course depending upon the severeness

of the burn, it could take a bit longer. A friend of mine gashed the

fleshy part of his hand just under the thumb really bad. He probably

should have gone to the Dr and gotten stitches, but didn't. He used

the emu salve and it took a while but healed up faster than anything

else he tried and no scarring. Anyway, these are just a couple

examples. Emu oil penetrates deeply into the layers of the skin and

can act as a carrier oil for other ingredients. I'm not sure if it

will get to the bone, but it is said to reduce inflammation in

muscles and joints. I have a grandson that races motocross and he

uses it for his aches and pains, and to facilitate healing wounds or

when he breaks any bones (luckily not too many really serious

injuries so far )

I have the CS and I also have aloe in the back yard. Any instructions on how to

mix it?

The incision is not even 24 hours old yet so I am a little hesitant to apply it

right away. It might be too painful to even open the bandage at this point.

Sorry about bad typing. My right shoulder is also injured and I can't raise it

now. Other than that I am reasonably okay. :-0

Would you mind posting on things one can do to for osteoporosis?

When a wound is still fresh you can accelerate healing by around a

factor of five with topical colloidal silver and aloe vera; joining

is speeded up enough that very little scar tissue is formed. I prefer

the colloidal silver.

You can't readily reach the bone with the colloidal silver, but you

can reach it with a magnetic pulser; the small amount of current

released isn't enough to feel but speeds healing and reduces bruising

very well. It also kills infection and I've saved limbs with a

magnetic pulser by clearing drug-resistant infection

Another thing that speeds healing and kills infection is ozone

therapy.

Those things might be out of reach for you but you a large magnet

(south-seeking north face) will produce a healing effect that

penetrates fairly deep.

Thanks Gail. I did decide to drive and buy some new Emu oil as I wasn't sure

how old my bottle was.

The bandage is going to be changed this afternoon so I will be able to see what

it looks like and go from there.

In my 5 yrs of experience with this oil and making my own salves,

some with emu and some with other oils & herbs, I, nor any of the

many other people that have used them, have ever had an incident of

contamination or spreading infection. " Studies have suggested that

emu oil is anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, encourages healing,

stimulates skin growth, has a natural SPF, is a natural emollient and

moisturizer, penetrates multiple layers of skin, is non-comedogenic,

hypo-allergenic, prevents and diminishes scarring/stretch marks and

more ... " There are also other oils, herbs and essential oils that

contain anti-bacterial properties that could be used in making a

salve. So I guess it might depend upon what is used in the make-up

of the salve. But then again, not all Emu oil is equal so it pays to

do some research before buying/using it.

You don't have to mix the CS and aloe; either one increases formation

of granular tissue (first healing stage) by a factor of four or five.

This leads to knitting of tissue with very little scar formation.

Within 24 hours is especially good because it will speed that initial

stage.

I don't have a formula for mixing the two.

No harm done. I have only used the CS. The scar almost looks healed already.

The doc took a look and was surprised that everything had closed but advised to

keep it covered for a week to make sure nothing got in.

Then again he didn't expect me to walk into his office today either. :-)

Raw honey (untreated, unheated, unfiltered) was what was mentioned. Any

raw honey should do.

I will try it. Was the kind of honey specified?

I have tried CS, Aloe and Emu so far. This scar is going to have the

best chance to heal of any scar I have had. :-)
