Hello Liz:

I just recently read that when you have twitches, hiccups, muscle cramps and

charlie horses in your calf muscles for instance, that is a sign of needing

Magnesium.

Bonnie

anyone cure their muscle twitching with supplements?

shannon?

i have had random twitches, mostley in my leg but sometimes in my butt

and even feet, haha. actually i think i've felt it in my abdominals

before, too. its been going on for about a month. im not feeling any

weakness so i am prone to think i am not supplementing correctly with

my diet...anyone able to resolve this? also, shanmnon, i heard you

took magnesium to help with ear ringing....i have that also, and im

curious as to how much you took and for how long|?

thanks you!

Magnesium is suggested for muscle twitches. Actually it is suggested

for a lot of things, including proper bowel movements.

I get muscle twitches very badly from calcium deficiency. It seems as

if magnesium also helps somewhat, but calcium is MUCH more important

for me. I seem to do best on two to three grams per day, but I

probably only need about 1.5 grams to keep twitching to a minimum.

However on less than say, 500 mg, in just a few days I will get crazy

spasms. I use NOW bone meal powder to supplement calcium and also

include some magnesium citrate.

Since my symptoms were pretty scary to me, I started taking 400 mcg of

Selenium, and 500 mg magnesium every day. Since it helped almost

instantly, I backed down to 200 mcg of Selenium a day, and either 250

mg or 500 mg (if not regular...)of magnesium. I also upped my vit C to

4000mg a day, which (I think) has helped my energy level come up. I

can't say that I have had any twitching (yet?), but itching began a

couple days ago, and man is that annoying!! DH asked me if I had fleas

I was itching so hard! LOL

Good luck- http://kelleygate.blogspot.com/
