It is all ways good to hear from survivalist. I have been reading some of the posts about the struggles some are having on the treatment. I struggled also. I only made to 13 weeks, but my doc told me I only had a 25% or less chance for cure. So I agreed to stop. He said that I 6 weeks I had deteriated pretty badly mentally and physically.

My new GI doc is running a series of bloodwork and I am having a colonoscopy and endoscopy done. I am Stage 4 with cirrhosis.

I loved the way he explained to me how I could maintain at this stage. Here is what he said, " If you have a room and blow up 90% of it, you can still use the other 10% because nothing happened there."

Well I use to be a carpenter (now I am just a fixer upper around the house), and my mind kept going to that mess the explosion made and how I needed to fix it so the whole room was functional again. Then I realized (my personal aha moment) this is how I have survived this long because: I will never give up on my liver, because it still needs to be fixed. Wow I am so glad my grandfather and my father taught me how to be patient and utilize the skills I have. I have built bridges, walked on beams a foot wide over rivers and never shuttered. Now I am an accounting clerk at an insurance company. Still patient, but boy do I get antsie some days.
