List Changed

Wow! Where did everyone go? It used to be if you asked a question on this

list several people would answer or share their input.

I guess this list has changed more than I thought. I really miss the

variety of health topics related to candida that used to be discussed here. I

think most people are not paying attention to this list anymore (I've been

guilty

of that) or simply found other resources or lists. It's too bad because

there were a lot of knowledgeable people that I never see post anymore.

Just because no-one has heard of the enzymes you are talking about

doesn't mean the list has changed.

Yes, things have changed!

Welcome back.

The times have been hard for the group, but some people remain still!

People do not stay around when there is too much stress.

Stress and candida are not too healthy for the body.

Many of the " old timers " that I used to see no longer post. I believe the

more information = the better. Learning from other people's experience

certainly does short-cut the trial and error process. Of course, everyone's

body

reacts differently and has it's own issues but if you hear five people on the

list all got the same results that is something to pay attention to. The

more people who actively participate in a group will keep the information

updated. Perhaps these people got cured and moved on... I have no idea.

I just think we should all work on making it more attractive for people to

post. I believe that we are all smart enough to draw our own conclusions at

the end of the day and that we don't have to battle over every little issue,

fact, opinion or supplement. Appreciate that different things work on

different people. Just put your opinions or experience out there, then let it

go

and let people decide for themselves - people generally will do what they want

to do anyway. I would like to see more contributors to the list and more

information being shared. A balance between research shared and experiences

would be beneficial to all. There only seem to be a few people that are

sharing

their knowledge and although I certainly appreciate that and in no way

discounting that.... I'd like to see more people doing the same again

Here's my first post. I'm an " old timer " (turning 61 next week---how

did that happen???) but a " new timer " to the diagnosis of Candida.

I've been struggling with hypothyroidism for about the last 10 years.

Have seen many conventional drs who only wanted to go by labs and even

though my labs were " good " I was " bad. " I was able to find an endo who

would prescribe Armour and that helped tremendously, but when my labs

got out of the range she wanted to decrease my dose. I freaked. Then I

searched out holistic drs in the Mpls/St. area and found a good

one. I knew there was lots going on, but the endos will only spend 5

minutes looking at a few tests. Then if you still don't feel well, you

are somehow made to feel it is your fault. So, I was pretty desperate

when I saw the holoistic dr. He is the one who discovered that my

digestive tract is basically whacked and I am deficient in folic acid,

zinc, vitamins D and B12. So I take a fistful of supplements daily plus

will soon be giving myself B12 shots and diflucan for 10 days plus my

Armour. It's a struggle just remembering everything. I'm trying to

stick to the diet the dr provided, but I find it is difficult and it has

only been 3 days! I'm allergic to dairy and probably wheat. So, my

food choices are getting slim to none.

I was a really healthy person for 50 years, so it is hard to deal with

all of this. I can get to self-pity mode in short order but try to

keep an optimistic attitude.

Since, according to tests, my candida is moderately out of balance, I'm

hoping this gets under control relatively quickly. I shudder when I

read that people have been working on it for years. I would like to

know timelines for people on the group---that is, how long before they

started to feel better. It all seems too vague right now and gives me a

lot of anxiety!

Thanks for being here. I'll try to post progress reports and hope to

read the same from others.

I am not sure if I am an old-timer, but I have been on the list for a while and

am still here even though my candida is gone. I find the various opinions on

health-related issues here to be very useful, as well as the various people on

the list who have such useful knowledge. I also feel I have something to offer

at times.

I do tire of reading the same things over and over again, and I tire of the

arguing. I believe in offering up different viewpoints and letting people take

what they can for themselves. I hope the list rejuvenates and continues to be a

resource for all of us. One recommendation I have for newbies is to do some of

the research yourself in the archives (use the " search " function) before asking

for a broad base of information. Many of the answers you need have been

discussed here numerous times. After you research, then please do post and ask

your questions. This is a horrible and confusing disease, and you are not

alone.

What I like about this group and its moderators are:

1) the list is tolerant of different opinions and none of us HAS to

conform to any of the opinions.

2) Everyone (newbies and oldies) has the same choices:

Get emails summary or itemized - OR No Email - or just continue to

hit delete ... etc., etc. AND etc.

All of us can choose to search the archives or not.

All of us can pose new (or old) questions to the list and

All of us can choose to reply or not to the posts.

3) Unfortunately, because of #1 we all must choose whether or not to

bicker, split hairs or argue, etc..

This is one of the more informative lists I (we) have been on.

Thanks to all...

Greetings oldtimer

Mpls. St. is great.

Listen to KFAI Mondays...Health Notes and you can get some good info. Call the

station and talk to Kinshasha and tell her NieeMA sent you and she can help you

a ton!!!

I would not take diflucan, it is hard on the body. If you are doing other

things to balance the things missing it is not needed!!! It will do more harm

then good.

My opinion!!!

Oh yes, You can got to Mastel's on St. Clair in ST. and talk to them there,

it is a very cool place!!!
