Guest guest
Gloria,I had a uterine ablation before the tx because I was so anemic to start with... so for tx I didn't have to deal with that crazy mess BUT as soon as I was done with tx, about a month later That mess came back with a vengeance and the pain was unbearable... so not too long after the tx recovery period I had a total hysterectomy... at 48. Went the first 2 weeks without ever having a hot flash and the doctor was stunned. Decided maybe I didn't need hormones.... (he took everything out by the way) then the doc takes the Christmas Holidays and goes to Jamaica... I think the minute he got on the plane the hot flashes started. 15 minutes of a hot flash and 10 minutes of freezing and it cycled like that... until he got back from Jamaica a week later! It was horrible! Wound up on hormone therapy for about a year... then they disappeared and I am off the hormones!Teri From: Gloria <gadamscan@...> Sent: Sat, June 19, 2010 10:00:00 AMSubject: Re: [ ] Survived first shot Oooops - just had another memory!!!How about going through the change of life at the same time as tx??? Wasn't that ever a treat!!! I lucked in and picked up one of those litter back and forth desk fans from Wal-Mart that worked like crazy!! I used it all through the winter and the spring of that treatment. So then thoughts that I sometimes should have my head examined over come into play. Nah, the tx actually had likely stopped the hot flashes; because, I suffered them all the following year as well. Well, I'm grateful that they were definitely over while on the 2nd treatment.Gloria
