Hi

Welcome to the Warriors group.

Im glad you found us, and we will all try to help you with info, experiance, and support.

There are folks here who are in all stages of HCV.

Unfortunately few with HIV co-infection too, to address those types of questions.

I am don in ks [Kansas], 59, DX'd with HCV in 2008, no biopsy or treatment yet.

My day is comming.

I try to help everyone with research to find answers.

I will try to help you also.

I do have some stuff in the HCV Links Library on HCV/HIV co-infection.

Click this link.

http://health.dir./group/ /links/020A___HEPATITIS_C_VIRUS_AND_HIV_COINFEC_001257588742/

First let me tell you some stuff, then I will address your post.

Since you are asking questions, and I saw that you had selected - 'no email' - I went ahead and changed you to Daily Digest so that you could recieve responces.

Daily Digest will combine 20-25 posts into one email, so that your not swamped with mail, but you will be able to keep up with everything said.

If you prefer, I will change you back again.

In Daily Digest, at the bottom of each post, are 3 ways you can reply.

#1 - Is to email the poster directly. [reply to sender]

#3 - Is to respond on forum to everyone. [reply via web post]

YOUR POST:

- 'Has anyone ever experienced severe spasm like pain in the liver area'?

Yes, many people have, and there is several reasons for this.

A common one is inflamation, another reason could be GallBladder problems.

Click on this link for more info.

- 'Also< I am having alot of back pain?????'

Again, yes, and there could be many causes for this too.

Have you talked to your liver doctor about these two problems?

What did they say?

Do you have a liver doctor at this time?

If not, I would suggest that you find one, and begin working with them.

They may be able to find the causes, and help you.

, you truely are carrying a double load - co-infection.

I have no doubt that were I in your shoes, I would be afraid too.

You have every right to feel this way, and it is entirely normal.

No one here will make you feel guilty for your fears.

We have all been there too, in one way or another.

I am very sad to hear that you have tried HCV TX 2 times and failed, for whatever reason.

The good news is that every day Medical Science is comming closer and closer to finding real answers, sometimes with giant steps.

I dont know your HCV genotype, but for geno 1's, Protease Viral Inhibitors are comming out soon....late winter or next summer.

The Pharm companys are saying that for many non-responders, the chances are almost doubled by attacking the virus from 3 directions. Interferon/Riba, and the PI's.

The results they say are very favorable.

One member here has reached SVR in a clinical trial using this, after failing with the I/R combo the first time.

Another member here is in a clinical trial right now, and we are all praying that he will clear also.

, please keep posting, and talking with us.

We would like to help you any way that we can.

You are not alone here.

love

I am a 47 year old female with HepC and HIV for 12 years. My question is: Has anyone ever experienced severe spasm like pain in the liver area? Also< I am having alot of back pain????? I am new to the group and feel lost and afraid. I have gone through the Ribovarin and Interferon treatments twice without success. I would appreciate any comments. Thank you.------------------------------------
