Guest guest
Hi everybody Got a Imaging thingy on my stomach area yesterday to see why I was bloating so bad, and in pain. Today saw my GP. We talked alot, about all sorts of stuff. He said that the Imaging thingy didnt show anything wrong. No fluid buildup or anything. My blood labs are normal. No indication of infections, etc. I showed him my stomach and said look!!!!!!! You can see I am distended. He said nothing. I ran by him the meds I have been taking, and what I found on the internet regaurding their sides. I told him that the Seroquel for sleep, the Adivan for panic, and the Prevacid for acid reflux, all say stomach bloating. I told him that I had stopped every P-med I take except the Seroquel for sleep because it hurt to eat, drink, or sallow pills. I told him that I will re-start them as I can, and that I am back to putting food in me. I told him I am in discomfort....now. He didnt like that, and sort of chewed me for stopping my meds. I told him it a balancing act.....hurt or use meds to not hurt. He is a very nice doctor, young, and has worked with me each step of the way. But I am sick of being told - 'nothing is wrong, go home' - when there is obviously something wrong or my gut wouldnt be enlarging. He told me that the side effects of meds are listed to keep the Pharm companys covered from lawsuits, and that I shouldnt believe everything I read, or read anything into it. I told him I wasnt, but that it is worth concidering as a possibility. So, there is no fluid buildup in my gut. No sign of infection, or anything else from the Imaging or labs. This is good news I guess, not that I wanted them to find anything wrong. But I do want to figure out what is bloating me up so much. He said I need to get some weight scales. If I gain 5-10 pounds in a day or two, hollar at him, because that means water retention. I have also lost 8 pounds the last week, probably from not eating. We talked about seeing my Gastro. I told him we meet in a couple of months to discuss biopsy or Fibroscan or whatever, and also possible HCV TX. He said, 'good'. So now I am home, my gut hurts, nothing is wrong. I am going to eat some food now if I can. Geeze, what a rollar coaster ride. Back to square one. love don in ks
