Trudy,I applied for SSD while I was still on treatment, it was part of my Long Term Disability Insurance requirements. What I have found is that they pretty much automatically deny you the first two times. They want to see if you will drop it. The third time is in front of a judge and you usually get approved there. The whole process takes about 2 years depending on how backlogged your state is. Hire a good Social Security Attorney, I have the name of one if you need one (he goes all over) they only get paid if you win and

the amount they get paid is 5 thousand, no more, no less. But they can get your case moved up in front of the judge a whole lot faster than if you do it yourself. When I wound up in front of the judge, 6 months had been shaved off my waiting time and the judge and all the medical staff had already read all of my medical documents. Normally you get a letter once they make their decision. The judge said I had waited long enough and approved me on the spot. I had a check for almost 2 years of back payments in 3 weeks. Ok, GP concedes to Fibro ! ( we're not surprised!) According to my labs I'm healthy as a horse. He didn't do any hep/ liver specifics, just cholesterols, glucose, etc. However, my protein is far too low( no surprise there either). And I didn't realize that protein is neccesary to maintaining blood sugar levels... now I understand a bit more of why I have just recently been having blood sugar crashes..Scarey... Very sudden & quite severe QUICKLY!

Advised that I quit white-knuckling. Take the damn Tramadol if I need it! And raised the Gabapentin to three times a day and two at night if I want...not gonna do the two at night; one is enuff. Told me to stop counting down the hours till I can take pain meds...we'll see....

If I can get this to work, I can go back to HepDoc for tx.

What is everyones experience with SSI or Disability, I quess, with the HCV( stage two plus), Fibro and severe ( damn brain fog)....ya know, colon stuff..oh .. Diverticolitis ! ! ??Haven't been able to work since 11/2008.. and worse now than then....

Ok, gotta go to Walgreens....
