Guest guest
Sylvia, How awful! What an experience. I hope you are comfortable now with the pancreas! Then, to end up with a dx of AIH. Will it never stop! Although I'm glad you didn't need one, and hope you never do, they do transplant pancreases. Frequently the kidney failure will be due to diabetes. In this situation they will give the person a pancreas along with the kidney to stop the diabetes. I hope no one here ever needs one of these. Patty [ ] Pancreatitis This is extremely serious and unbelievably painful. I was hospitalized twice with them thinking it was gall bladder attack. I couldn't even keep water down and vomited green bile and had horrible pain. All of the tests were inconclusive. They finally went into to remove my gall bladder and discovered my pancreas was in such bad shape with the largest pseudo cyst they had ever seen. the had to remove the gall bladder to get to the pancreas well enough to try and save my life. Two weeks later, I was back in with many small pseudo cysts all over my pancreas and another attack. They were too small to operate and just monitored with massive doses of an antibiotic starting with a V. Until they overdosed me on it. It was after this, I started having liver enzyme problems and was eventually diagnosed with AIH. That was 4 years ago and while I know pancreatitis could return, it hasn't. However, the pain was in the diaphragm center area, and I would know if it returned. I couldn't even rest my hand on the area it was so tender.. Get to a good internist or gastro who persists, or needs to go in and take a look around. They cannot transplant a pancreas and you can't live without it. Has anyone had pancreatitis and does the ReA cause this? >Thanks, >Sherm My condolences, Sherm. I had pancreatitis over Christmas 1999 and spent nine days in the hospital. The doctors finally admitted that it was most likely caused by the NSAIDs. That was only after they spent days asking me time and again if I drink, how much and how often. I don't! I haven't in years due to all the meds I have to take. They even started asking my wife; she went ballistic on them! For a couple of months prior to the pancreatitis I had elevated liver tests and was scheduled to see a liver specialist the Monday after Christmas. He ended up seeing me in the hospital. When the pancreatitis cleared up the liver tests went back to normal. Not sure if there is a correlation, but it seems like there must be. I've just noticed recently that Vioxx now lists pancreatitis as a possible side effect. At the time, my rheumy swore it couldn't be that! Guest guest
Dear ......, Hope your sister is doing a little bit better. Did you think of vaginal insufflations? I am trying myself this procedure: outlfow 1/2 l oxigen from bottle, combined with ozone, from generator (Longevity). If you lead the oxigen through some water, the ozone with water will come in the vagina and cervix (with ozonresistant bag), and this will be very beneficial. It's not complicated to do, and not or expensive (autohemotherapy) like other things. I bought one several yrs ago and it's still going strong. My grandson and I do ear insufflations. I've had sinus issues all winter which are now getting much better because I know I need to do this daily. My grandson has ear problems in the winter and allergies in the spring. This machine is amazing for the benefits we've gotten. It also has a life time warranty. I live in TX and send my all the way back to Saul to look at my switch. It cost me nothing. You say it is simple to do the vaginal insufflations, it doesn't sound easy to someone who knows nothing about it. Do they also sell the equipment for the vaginal, ear and other insufflations. Guest guest
sounds like his gallbladder, very painful, I had a gallstone, and used a liver gall bladder cleanse called dr christophers, at organic health. colesterol[sp] is what forms gallstones, and even a mix of olive oil and lemon juice will knock it out, but taste real bad. 10 to 1 thats what it is, and what he is taking might be bringing this to focus. Other symptoms include: nausea vomiting weight loss diarrhea oily stools Read more about pancreatitis symptoms » What is pancreatitis? Pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas. The pancreas is a large gland behind the stomach and close to the duodenum - the first part of the small intestine. The pancreas secretes digestive juices, or enzymes, into the duodenum through a tube called the pancreatic duct. Pancreatic enzymes join with bile - a liquid produced in the liver and stored in the gallbladder - to digest food. The pancreas also releases the hormones insulin and glucagon into the bloodstream. These hormones help the body regulate the glucose it takes from food for energy. Normally, digestive enzymes secreted by the pancreas do not become active until they reach the small intestine. But when the pancreas is inflamed, the enzymes inside it attack and damage the tissues that produce them. Pancreatitis can be acute or chronic. Either form is serious and can lead to complications. In severe cases, bleeding, infection, and permanent tissue damage may occur. Both forms of pancreatitis occur more often in men than women. What are the causes of acute pancreatitis? Acute pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas that occurs suddenly and usually resolves in a few days with treatment. Acute pancreatitis can be a life-threatening illness with severe complications. Each year, about 210,000 people in the United States are admitted to the hospital with acute pancreatitis.1 The most common cause of acute pancreatitis is the presence of gallstones - small, pebble-like substances made of hardened bile - that cause inflammation in the pancreas as they pass through the common bile duct. Chronic, heavy alcohol use is also a common cause. Acute pancreatitis can occur within hours or as long as 2 days after consuming alcohol. Other causes of acute pancreatitis include abdominal trauma, medications, infections, tumors, and genetic abnormalities of the pancreas. more: http://www.medicinenet.com/pancreatitis/article.htm
