Hi le

I think that you should resolve your child care issues first, before starting TX, BUT, that you should start ASAP.

Everyone is different, so will have different sides, or none.

You wont know until you start.

I understand your concerns about caring for your children while on TX.

This is very important.

Do you have any family to help you with your kids? Any friends? Church? Baby sitters?

I dont know where you live, but you might talk to your doctor about support groups in your area.

You might call your local Child Care Agency [Welfare?], and see if they can suggest some help, just in case you need it.

Dont let FEAR hold you back from moving forwards with TX.

With a low VL, and good labs, you may clear with ease.

I have seen reports that folks with low viral loads stand a much better SVR chance than those with higher loads.

Your age is also a factor. Your young.

Older people have a harder time on TX.

Im 59, and dread my day.

Again I repeat, not everyone has bad reactions and sides.

Dont let the 'horror' stories sway you.

Use them as reference only as to possibilitys.

The horror stories do not mean that YOU will suffer likewise.

I will be starting pegasys some time this week, I have had the meds for about 10 days and Im just scared to do it. How is going to make me feel? Will I be able to take care of my 2 small children ( one has autism, so he needs lots of time and understanding ) Its just me with them. I had read some web site with a bunch of horror stories so I have been freaked out. I am 30 years old with gtype 1a, and if i am reading this report right my load is under 400000, had a biopsy 5 years ago they said no damage to my liver then, I dont drink or do any "hard drugs" everyonce in a while I like to smoke, not sure if you can do that on therpy, scared to ask the dr. Anyways any helpfull hints will ease my mind. Thanks le------------------------------------

I have my mother to help, but not 24/7. My husband had to take a job out of

state because of the economy and he is not here much, but my bills are paid, so

that lets off some stress. I just am a panic mess,My oldest goes to school

during the day but the baby, 2 is home with me. This is such a big time in her

devolpment, I dont want to screw her up by sleeping and being sick all day. aghh

I had read on this scary site i spoke of in my other post that the tx is going

to kill part of my brain stem, is this true. I have fried enough brain cells in

the past and would like to keep the brain cells I have left. I just want to be

better, I dont have many friends and none of them know about my hepc so I dont

even know how to tell them, and really dont think its there bus. idk Im just a

panic mess latley

Hi le

Im glad you have some help from family and the school with your kids.

Therefore I would suggest that you go ahead a start your TX.

Sooner started, sooner finished.

This my opinion only, and I am NOT a professional in anything except 'know-it-all'. lol :-)

Now I dont know who told you that you lose part of your brain cells doing TX.

I havent seen much about this topic in my research, [and I research all the time].

I wont go as far as to say that this is 'totally bogus', but I am very doubtful that the TX impact is so severe.

If it were, I dont think it would have been approved for use by the AMA, for all these years.

A study would have surfaced by now, alerting everyone to the dangers.

For one thing, if you hold your breath for [1] one minute, you deny your brain, X amount of oxygen, therefore a brain cell or two might die.

If you exercise, and dont inhale enough air, you also deprive your brain of needed O2, and may lose a brain cell.

My point is that even in our everyday normal activitys we lose brain cells.

AND - brain cells die on their own, all day, every day, of our lives as we age.

By the same token, new neuro pathways are created between existing cells. Everyday.

It is a fact that medicines DO cause damage, but most drugs do not cause much brain damage at all, or the AMA would yank them off the shelf in a hurry, or post special warnings for use.

You probably kill more brain cells drinking a glass of water from your tap, [lead and PCB's], or eating a can of tunafish, [mercury], than with most drugs.

I believe.

Now Im not saying that you will NOT lose a brain cell or two from the I/R TX, but its effect on the human body in this way is probably small.

Your vastly more likely to experiance physical sides from TX, that have little to do with your brain cells.

There are other related health issues to doing TX.

It is hard on our bodies, no doubt.

There are studies going on right now about some of these health issues.

We all have to balance the pros and cons.

Is it more important to rid ourselves of this virus and take a chance on possible related issues, or let the liver damage progress?

Each person must decide that for themselves.

Some people swear that TX is evil, and go the alternative/natural route.

Some swear that TX is the ONLY way to go.

Some do both. I will be in this group.

While I believe the Pharm company drugs do creat many problems, I believe they also help.

I also believe in natural methods.

Which is better? We will all know in 500 years when Medical Science is more advanced.

One of the things I like about this group, is that we all share every side to the story.

The more informed we are, the better our choices and hope.

I, personally, want to know it all, so that I can survive to be a cranky old dude. lol

I found out 17 years ago that I had Hep C and I haven't heard anything about losing brain cells doing TX...As Don said, go for it...never mind a fear of losing brain cells if you take the medicine, but it could cost you your life not starting the medicine asapFrom: Christ <ludichrist2000@...>WebWarriors grp < >Sent: Sat, March 20, 2010 5:13:45 PMSubject: [ ] (unknown) - le
