Please, marie - I know this is a sad state of affairs; but, try to keep your spirits up!! Honestly, one Dr. does not ever like to go over the head of the specialist and really, only your liver doc can say yea or nay. What are your labs like for HepC and what is your viral count? Just asking because you may have time yet to get this other thing fixed; before trying tx. Or, the liver doc might just say, one doesn't have anything to do with the other and if your going to feel crappy, why not get it all over with at the same time???It sounds like they are suggesting some kind of steroid shots into the vertebrae. As truly unpleasant as that sounds, if you are going to be in bed for your back anyway, you might as well do the tx as well.Gloria

Hello Everyone,

I had two appointments with my regular doctor this week. Wednesday I had a steroid injection in my hip due to bursitis then Friday we went over the x-rays of my neck and knee (both have been so painful haven't been able to sleep). The doctors exact quote was "you are a wreck" not what ya wanna here. It appears as a result from my cancer treatments in 1998 either the cancer or the chemo depleted most of the bone marrow in my spine. She showed me that every disc is deteriorated and bone spurs have developed in between each vertebrae. The good news is she now believes I am in pain and prescribed me percecets, zanaflex & lyrica. I have a referral to a neurologist for a nerve conductor test as the spurs are causing the nerves to be pinched and damaged. My alternatives are injections where each disc is and surgery. I am so depressed I asked her how this would effect my getting treatments for the Hep c she just said I would have to discuss that with my

liver doc. I hate doctors it just sucks when I am trying so hard to get healthier and it seems something keeps pushing me down.
