Guest guest
Greg, What is this simple diet that grandma ate that made her feel better? I have found eating a high protien diet gives me more energy, and makes my Reiter's feel a little more relieved. But sometimes even on the high protien diet, sometimes just a tiny bit of stress will set it off again. Like I am not hurting much tonight, but I have to go to the dentist tomorrow, and just have 2 fillings replaced, and I'm not nervous, but having to go thru getting ready and going out and home again, feels like a long trip for me, and I will be down the next day out of energy and hurting. I wanted to go to my sons wedding in Dec., but that is a 20 hour drive, and I would be dead by the time we got there even if I were on morphine and laying in the back seat sleeping. So, I get to look at the pictures. My kidney is really bad too, and the rest of the health problems I have, is like a ball and chain now days. Oh yes, and I can't eat roughage, because I have had my complete colon removed, and my small intestines are warring out, what else is new! But I would like to know what a simple diet is, or your view of one. We have the worse cook at this apartment building I live. She cooks the worse food for seniors, and people with disabilities. Maybe if you make a list of a simple diet, I will give it to her, spicy or not. Everybody here gets a belly ache from the food here, but they tell us we have to pay for it whether we eat it or not, and it is $200 a month, so there isn't much left to buy food we can eat.We are all on a fixed income here. But you are right, what we put in our bodies effects us all. Thanks. Guest guest
Hi , I think the simple diet she is talking about is basically: Steak or very lean hamburger, lamb steak, no pork Whole wheat bread Vegetables Baked potatoes Very little fruit This is pretty boring, but you do get the nutrients, miss out on desert though. Good Luck Greg ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Guest guest
, Get copies of your labs. Find out what thyroid tests they are running and look at your numbers. Often they are using an outdated TSH test and are not running the Free's. Oh, make sure they have run an antibody test, that is the auto-immune thyroid disease. Please don't settle for fine! Oh, also get female hormones tested. There are Bio-identical hormones that can be compounded with different fillers. Guest guest
Hi : **** Sometimes it takes a day or two to adjust the settings. Give it til then to see if your emails stop. Guest guest
Marissa commented on this but I'd like to say I've seen it take as much as four days for effects to take place once you've changed your group settings. I don't know why it takes so long but I've seen it happen on dozens of other groups, too. So you could be getting the e-mails for a few days yet. Guest guest
Thanks a million ! It opens fine and is now very conveniently on my Macbook's " desktop " for easy reference. I'm quite keen on this plan, and am doing things to get it going. Yesterday I started a notebook in which to record start and progress aspects. I calculated things like my BMI and body fat percentage, waist/hip ratio and so on. I plan to add some potential shopping lists of ideal stuff next. One thing I see is that Oats of any kind is a nono for O neg ns. But my encyclopedia does not say why - does anyone know? Depending on the reason, I may want to include it in my options as I have few things that work for me instead. Cashews are the other avoid I have a problem with and want to find out more about. The encyclopedia says it is to do with disease susceptibility - but not what disease. It would help to know. They are one of the few nuts soft enough to eat that do not give me known issues. Macadamias are also okay and beneficial and I love them - but they are not available any more here. So I am trying to set up something do-able. Guest guest
I've been going through some of my old stuff for recipes. I know I have more somewhere!! A notebook is a great idea. I think I will also try your shopping list idea. Thanks for all the good ideas. On Tue, Sep 6, 2011 at 6:44 PM, Irene de Villiers <furryboots@...>wrote: > ** > > > Thanks a million !
