Guest guest
Please forgive me if I have upset anyone with the response to "drinking alcohol." Four years ago after the docs took me off treatment for smoking pot and taking pain pills, not prescribed, I got real mad. I was sooooo.. close. So, I drank and drank and drank and I almost died. You see, drinking is my way out, my way of coping with the anger. Most of all I was angry with myself. So, when this issue of alcohol came up it got me a little angry again. Please forgive me for that. If anyone would like to hear the whole story, give me a personal e-mail and I'll tell you about it in more detail. If you have a problem with alcohol, which I do, then write me and I'll give you my take. Yes, I am an alcoholic and I am a happy person and since I faced reality that my liver hates alcohol, I quit (trust me, there is more to my quitting then just hep C). I learn from meetings and my doctor just what alcohol can do to us mentally and our liver (been there, done that). The worst thing you can do for your liver is drink alcohol...ever! I don't know if anyone realizes this or not but when you have a liver disease and you insist on drinking alcohol you are doing the same thing as committing suicide. What I mean by that is you know your liver hates alcohol but yet you make it take it. I don't mean to piss anyone off but face reality. If you love yourself (and I hope you do), don't make your life shorter then it has to be.Love,SheilaFrom: Randy <randyowe (DOT) com> Sent: Thu, April 15, 2010 7:02:14 PMSubject: Re: [ ] Re: Farley - Longtime Boy oh boy, I think I heard it all now. Thinking about drinking? Sounds like a good case of alcoholism to me. The difference between an alcoholic and non-alcoholic is this. An alcoholic obsesses about the first drink long enough to take it. Then when he/she does, it becomes a compulsion, and leads to still more. So, here's a good suggestion. Go ahead and take the first drink, and find out if you are or are not an alcoholic. If you are, then all the good work you did to help your liver get a break will be tossed away like spit in the wind. Or, you can just say, Nah, I think I'll give my liver a break for once. Have not taken a drink, but I do think about it and with it being 80m here makes me think about it more. Is it safe now? you say you tried it during treatment, heard it could kill you if you do. I guess I am still nervous that that riba/inferon poison is still in my body. What did you experencie when you drank on treatment, if you dont mine me asking From: "schandler21@ comcast.net" <schandler21@ comcast.net> Sent: Thu, April 15, 2010 12:46:59 AMSubject: Re: [ ] Re: Farley - Longtime Beth,If you're in treatment, DON'T DO IT! Wow, my nurses warned me off it but I had to try it anyway about halfway through, what a trainwreck!SteveLife is much more fun when thought of as a scavenger hunt as opposed to a surprise party.
