Hi Jane

I was wondering what suppliments you are going to take.

Can you post a list of them?

Below I have listed mine.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have cut way way back on OTC/P-meds to preserve my liver.

I usually only take PRN [as needed].

Seroquel 25mg daily for sleep. I must sleep.

Pain meds occasionally, but usually just live with the pain.

- suppliments -

every other day - 1 pill each

sups one day - vitamins the next day - back and forth

not seeking a cure - just low maint to slow HCV progression

Fish Oil - Omega3 - 1200mg

ALA - Alpha Lipoic Acid - 600mg

Silymarin - milk thistle - 300mg

Selenium - 100mg

L-Glutathione - 50mg

Grape Seed extrct - 60mg

L-Lysine - 500mg [occasionally]

Folic Acid - 400mg [occasionally]

MSM - Methylsulfonylmethane - 500mg [occasionally]

Vitamin B complex [super B]

V-C - 1000mg

V-D3 - 1000mg

Mens Formula Multi [less iron]

I have been thinking about starting -

LDN - low dose naltrexone - still learning about this

digestive enzymes - this is in the works

- basic diet -

no breads - sometimes saltine crackers

rice

little red meats - no organ meats - little to no fried/greasy foods

little to no spices - little to no sugar - no salt

beans

some cheese

no dairey [ice cream, milk, etc]

chicken - fish - turkey

blueberry yogurt [daily]

banana [daily]

frozen or canned fruits/veg inc citrus

meals on wheels [who knows what is in this]

I eat a lot of canned processed foods - I need more fresh or frozen.

Shopping/storage is limited - cannot walk well.

Hi SuziQ

Yes, thank you, I do know about the opiate thing with LDN.

Docs use HDN [high dose] for addicts.

The pain-doc has me on Lyrica 75mg x3 and Oxycontin PRN 10mg x1 [time release] - right now for the Fibromyalgia.

We have talked about the benefits of LDN for the Fibro, rather than pain meds, because I am concerned about liver damage.

He suggested the Oxy/Lyrica approach for right now.

I do have to say - I do really really like the Oxy's. LOL :-)

Im a member of all the LDN groups, so I read bunches there, and am doing my own research too, in addition to what my pain-doc knows.

I am also waiting on more clinical studies in regaurds to HCV-LDN approach.

The results should be very interesting.

I am trying to be as careful as I can be when it comes to meds, sups, diet, etc.

My goal is to preserve my liver for as long as possible, because with my heart, I may never be allowed to do the I/R HCV TX.

I wish there was a magic button for all of us.

Push it and live healthy and happy forever. LOL :-).......[dream on don]

Hi Don;Just a note about LDN. You cannot take it with opiate pain meds. The pain meds won't work. I'll post some links about Dr Berkson--his education--a couple of interviews--the LDN meeting in 2009--Sounds like you are on the right track with your supps--just need to take regularly.SuziQ > > > love> don in ks> >> > I have been thinking about starting -> LDN - low dose naltrexone - still learning about this> digestive enzymes - this is in the works> .> > >------------------------------------
