Hi Trudy I agree with Don dont get to freaked out. I did the same thing but along with the cold hands and numbness I experinced chest pain leg pain fluid build up. It was mostly due to the HCV meds burning up my thyroid. Are you on treatment? Have you finished treatment? You dr treating for HCV should be testing your thyroid as well.

Hi Trudy

First off, dont be getting too freaked out. You may not have MS or RS.

Let the doctor check you out and see. He will send you to a specialist.

You might also get a second opinion from your Hdoc, whatever results are found.

GP's dont know everything, and your Hdoc needs to be in the loop for your livers sake.

There are a lot of other things that could cause your symptoms.

Your symptoms might just be a side effect of the HCV.

The HCV has done some pretty weird stuff to my body, thats for sure.

I know your scared Trudy, but just take it one day at a time.

FEAR is one of our worst enemies. It makes us go crazy, and ruins our day.

Dont jump the gun, there could be a simple answer.

My Mom experianced symptoms just like you describe, and she never had MS or RS.

I havent found any connection between HCV and MS.

There is safety rumors about the HBV vaccine and MS, but no positive data that I can find.

Just in case.

Dont use them to project anything onto yourself.

Now Trudy, remember we have all been talking in depth about Fibromyalgia.

It is many times more common in the general public, than MS or RS.

It is also well known that HCV, and HCV treatment brings Fibro out in people.

I havent done HCV TX yet, but I do have Fibromyalgia big time, just from the HCV alone.

This could be the cause of your pain. <------------ --------

The numbness or cold in your fingers could be a blood flow issue, not a disease.

Poor circulation is much more common than any disease.

It might be as simple as lack of exercise, or it could be Thyroid problems.

Thyroid and HCV do sometimes go hand in hand.

Viruses are weird, and affect us in strange ways.

Last word:

Trudy, try to relax. Take it all with a grain of salt until you know for sure.

I am here for you, and will do research to help you out.

I have your back.

Now, try to rest my friend. You need it to heal.

Well , I think I have found one of those rare commodities, a determined & knowledgeable Doc! I had spoke at legnth with his PA and they discussed my case & decided to take me on. First visit today... Dr immediately recognized that I have Renaud's syndrome( cold bloodless fingers and toes, sporadic but cold sensitive I. E. Cool glass of drink, cool air etc. ) now to be determined why. Tentative diagnosis of this progessive debilitating pain... MS. Now I don't know much about MS.... Pryor, Montel .... I Am scared speechless of this new possibility. Had a very hard time saying it aloud to Hubby when he asked about dr visit today. My present attitude is this: Complete Denial. Period. Cannot , will not be MS. Cause I said so . Case closed. .... For about 20 seconds & then the Elephant reappears in my head ! I remember many years ago a Doc mentioning a

diagnosis of HCV ... Then = Complete Denial for about 2 years. So, right now I fear this new beast even more(?) than the Dragon. Ignorance breeds fear. I quess I'm asking, if anybody knows anything about MS , please spread the knowledge... Oh, and Don, if by chance you are running out of research projects here is one... MS occurances in conjunction with HCV since autoimmune diseases and virus' are common causes of MS... However the tx for MS can be very hard on the liver....Go figure ! Okay it's 2 in the morning & I'm not a vampire and have to be up at 4 am...later guys, tho doubt if I can sleep... The Elephant in my head will keep me awake LOL Hugs & Humor, From Trudy

Thyroid test are normal ... Haven't had tx. Hdocs won't treat until this pain is controlled. GP prescribed new drug & I will advise what it is when I pick it up ( can't remember LOL). I have known that I have Renauds but thought there was a treatment or " fix"....guess not. Damn I hate wearing gloves to get ice for my Crystal Lite LOL. Trudy,

I saw that post about hating to use your numb fingers to get your ice for your

crystal light.

Please go to www.mpwhi.com to read about apartame poisoning!!!

Aspartame is the artificial sweetener in your Crystal Light. It breaks down to

formeldehyde in your body.

My mother is a diet freak and has used artificial sweeteners for 50 years, and

everything else that is fat free. She has NON-DIABETIC neuropathy. She has no

feeling in her legs to her knees. Her hands are gone too. She has these

surgeries to cut the tendons in her toes so that they will lay flat because they

are atrophying. She has open ulcers on her feet that won't heal. She also has

many other symptoms of aspartame poisoning, such as super rapid heatbeat, had to

go get paddled to reset and brain fog. And she is still very heavy!!! It doesn't

really help in the weight loss effort because it screws up your metabolism. I've

given her the information but she has chosen not to check into that possibility.

There is a Dr. in West Palm Beach Fla. who first named it as a syndrome.

Google him for reports.

Maybe all your numbness symptoms could disappear by changing your diet. This is

a new problem and the doctors haven't caught up with it yet, other people have

been diagnosed with MS. So read up and try the elimination diet and see what

happens.

With Love,

Deb
