Guest guest Posted June 14, 2010 Report Share Posted June 14, 2010 Debbie,Have I mentioned at all that I hate moving? LOL! Actually I think we have a pretty decent handle on the packing. I'm not real organized but the basement is done... Bruce did that. The den is pretty much done, working on the kitchen, got a lot done in there... Bruce is off for the next two days and we're power packing. I have both of my huge closets almost empty.. all that is hanging in there is a few things that I might need over the next couple of weeks. Have to attack the closet in the Master Bedroom.. that's Bruce's stuff. I have packed all my purses, that was a huge box. I tend to get distracted so easily that I wind up doing a bit here and a bit there and eventually it gets done. We moved most of the boxes into the garage so it's easier for the movers and we get a better estimate on Wednesday. There is a lot left to do but I know my hubs can make it happen. And if need be we'll call in the troops. I wish I had the talent to make a quilt. I tried once and I suck at it. Teri.... I think I packed about 8 boxes today and all of them were breakables and valuables. Gotta finish this stupid office. Can ya tell how scattered I am? I have so much breakable stuff. I collect bells, over 110 of them and counting. I have china and crystal that belonged to my grandmother and more that belonged to my mom along with what I already had. I have tons of beads and beading supplies. I would have to have people help me now. Can't depend on me anymore for heavy duty shit like lifting and going non-stop for hours. I had surgery in Feb. ..spinal fusion in my neck, I think my fibro has settled there the last few days. Anyway..I'm rambling. Good luck with the rest of the move and remember not to over do it. We moved here from a house that was 1/3 the size and needed stuff to fill in the spaces! Plus I too have accumulated china and crystal from my aunt and my dad.. he had some cool crystal, and countless other priceless things (more memory wise than value wise) that I can't imagine leaving to someone else to pack. We do have to have movers, my son who is 30, the last time we moved he got all his friends over.. this time they all raised their hands and said NOT IT! It's too much heavy stuff. I' am getting a deal cause my neighbor works for moving companies and I'm probably getting a 3G move for about 4 hundred. I'll take it.
