Guest guest
Hi Trudy, It's been a while, but freezing in ziploc freezer bags is what I use. Let your soup cool and ladle in desired amounts. Try to get all air out. For better protection--put several sealed quart bags into gallon ziploc freezer bag (gallon bag can be re-used after quarts are eaten) Be sure to date and label--soup can look pretty much the same after freezing. Black permanent marker works great. Can't remember if they have pint size freezer bags. I buy mine at local dollar store. I don't use the really cheap baggies for freezing. I eat a lot of soup( 2.x day) and know I should give up the canned. But whenever I make a pot of soup it lasts longer than I want; need the variety of beef barley & chicken noodle.thought freezing portions would be the answer...in what ?? Anyone have experience here? > > > > http://facebook.com/people/andTrudy-Kinsey/1340460877 " > > " A well- behaved woman never made history " ...Mae West > > http://oktravels.wordpress.com > > http://allrecipes.com/cook/TrudyK/profile.aspx >

Guest guest
Trudy, I make a lot of homemade soups and freeze in ziplocks or I can in jars (very easy to do). This is much healthier. The ziplocks work very well, you can put as much or as little as you wany and lay flat and they stack pretty good in freezer.
