RandyThat seems like a fabulous idea!!! Ya, I can see how it's a whole lot to take on; but, look at all the folks that are on here from the different states... If every one does their little part - just think of the ride!!! Hopefully then, you would wind up in San Diego for a huge bash on May 19th!!Or - you could wind up in Vancouver, Canada where there is a World Concert being planned for 2011!!!Gloria

Ah, Mr Lion, Very interesting account. I don't know if you have followed my recent posts or not, since you are new but have hung around the shadows. I had to quit drinking too. I started again after my third failed attempt at treatment. Except I knew what I was doing, suicide by alcohol. Anyway, one of the interesting things is that a doctor would prescribe vicodin in the first place. They do make oxycontin! Also, you mentioned "ulcers" in your mouth. I think of all the sides I got that one was about the worst for me. If food had any spice, was too hot or cold, I could not eat. My docs did nothing for it. And then there was the constant sore throat, which was really thyroiditus, and thus I became hypothyroid from it. Now imagine this. It hurts to eat so you don't and even if you did your body

couldn't convert it into energy because the thyroid isn't working. Now, I'm a carpenter, construction worker, and I had to work while on treatment. I was in constant pain and fatigue. I got no meds so I bought them on the street until I couldn't afford them. Then I couldn't work so I lost my house to foreclosure. That's just the short version. Anyway, welcome! I guess we all have our stories here. Not all bad ones either. I'm just thankful that I came to my senses before I drank myself to death. You're from Cal? What city? I mentioned some time ago to this group that I was "going to ride my bike across America," (most thought I was crazy, may be) well I am going to ride across America, or not me really but my mission is to create an event that will. I have started a bicycle ride

that I hope will eventually make it to San Diego. Next April/May we are going to ride from St. sburg, Fl to Tallahassee, Fl as a forerunner to the big event to come. This first ride will be like the first leg. Anyway, I have a lot more info to add to this but I was waiting for the right time, so this is being a little premature, posting it here. But, it is happening. My need is to begin to collect names and contacts of people across the country who would be willing to help oraganize local support. I was at the World Hep Day Event in DC recently and spread alot of info there, I have a contact in SanFransico that I will use. But, if you feel inclined, I could use all the help I can and a guy with a PHD in Virology sounds like a good guy to have on your side. Besides, I have found that one of the best resouces I have against the Dragon is my own fight against it. I mean, if I get out and shout a little at it I feel better. (see
