Guest guest
Cinder,The poor kid was scared to death and didn't want anyone to know about it. It was his first time since birth in the hospital for anything more than an ER visit. He was frightened of the tube going down his throat, he had no idea he would be out cold before that even happened. I don't even want to tell him now that they cathed him too! The surgery lasted a little over an hour, the doc said he thought it went well and we can hope for 90% recovery but it will never be 100%. But that he can survive and work with 90%. When I saw him afterwards he was so loopy it was funny. I brought him a stuffed little monkey and you'd have thought I have him the Hope Diamond. He was out of 2nd stage recovery in about 45 minutes or less. He was home by 11. I just checked on him, he's uncomfortable but not in pain. He has a lovely vicodin prescription and the doc shot him up with anesthesia in his elbow. He also had demerol, visteril, valium and versed. I think the kid is loaded still. His arm is wrapped like a football. It's huge. The doc said the incision is only about 4 inches and he was able to dislodge the nerve right away but it was really caught up which is why it was causing so much pain. Hopefully he'll be back to work in 6 to 8 weeks. And I'm back to packing. Ugh... this is a thankless job.TeriFrom: Cinder <datagrey@...> Sent: Tue, June 1, 2010 5:24:32 PMSubject: Re: [ ] Prayers Needed Please- Teri Teri, I am sending my prayers right now. Guest guest
LOL! He's actually at home in the safety and love of his girlfriend of almost 9 years! He moved out 2 years ago at the tender age of 28 and I did a happy dance for a week. But this is the first real bad medical problem he's ever had so it was rough on mom. Ian is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has been for many years so I've seen injuries but never anything that didn't heal on its own. We've had countless ER visits but this is about as bad as he's been. I'm just glad he's home on his couch dozing off to Lord of the Rings.... He said he was watching the trilogy... sure he is on vicodin and everything else they pumped him full of!Teri From: sparkles43d <sparkles43d@...> Sent: Tue, June 1, 2010 6:13:11 PMSubject: [ ] Re: Prayers Needed Please- Teri Teri, I also just read your posts. Guest guest
Well good I am so glad it went so well. Some things us moms just can't tell our kids. had an couple of eye surgeries. They had to shorten the muscles behind her eyes. So had to actually take the eyes out of the sockets to do it. Yuck. Sure wasn't gonna tell her that. Anyway she made it through it well. Her muscular dystrophie did bad things to her body. I am so glad your son is home safe and you are able to be back to packing. Good. I have been up and cleaning all day long. Just woke at 10 am and started cleaning. Did not stop till 3 something when my husband called. I get into these spurts once in a while where I just go and go. I am so grateful for them. i never had these before getting on the vitamins and suppliments. The b 12 s may have a lot to do with it. After all that made fried fish and tater tots for Rick. Me veges. and a peach coffee cake. Very fattening. Not for me. I did taste it. The cook always has to taste it to make sure it is okay to serve. I had a big taste.lol. yummy. Well gonna go get some more email gone through. Love and hugs Cinder Check out datagrey's photos and profile! http://community.webshots.com/user/datagrey Find me on MySpace and be my friend. http://www.myspace.com/datagrey From: Teri Gottlieb <theresagottlieb@...>Subject: Re: [ ] Prayers Needed Please- Teri Date: Tuesday, June 1, 2010, 5:33 PM Cinder,The poor kid was scared to death and didn't want anyone to know about it.
