Guest guest
I worked a crisis hotline for battered women for 5 years. I am a certified Crisis Counselor. Here is some folders from the Links Library.Perhaps they can help. Guest guest
Ya know, hopefully after World HCV Day... It may be easier to get 800 number help... Try ATT , they are into everything!! I love American Idol but this is more important ! LoL For me tho, I am so shy ( scared shitless till I know ya REALLY well ! ) that I still need this support system so Please don't let this group go by the wayside !From Trudy from my iPhone On Apr 9, 2010, at 12:07 AM, Christ <ludichrist2000@...> wrote: I just got off the phone with the CDC hotline, but they werent set up for emotional support. Just basic information. Tried the phone numbers they gave me, but none of them worked. I did find one number in SF, but its only a nightline - 5PM to 5AM. They told me to call back tomarrow evening. Hopefully they can give me a 1-800 number thats open 24/7, that people can call for HCV emotional support. This group or other groups can provide info, but it would be nice to be able to talk to a real person anytime, and get support from a kind voice. I might have to look into finding some way to start one on my own. They suggested perhaps the phone companys might donate a 1-800 line, or discount one. They also suggested that organizations might donate money for such a project. Then I would have to find people to volunteer to man the phones. Im not quit sure how to make something like this a reality. It would be great if I could figure it out. I have searched and searched the internet looking for that magic number. I have spent the last 2 hours on the phone. Im pulling out my hair. lol I cant believe that a HCV 24 hour support phoneline doesnt exist with 5 million infected folks just in the USA. Totally unbelieveable. Well I will keep working on it. Somethings got to give. love don in ks From: Theresa Gottlieb <theresagottlieb >Subject: Re: [ ] HCV phone hotlines Date: Thursday, April 8, 2010, 11:27 PM I worked a crisis hotline for battered women for 5 years. Guest guest
Hey Don Great idea, On manning it there seems to be a lot of very knowledgeable people right here. I bet with all the technology now whatever phone number you use it could be transfered to anyone in the states. That way anyone from just about anywhere could man it for a few hours at a time. What about those Internet phones or the landlines for X amount and free long distance...Good luck Butch > > Ive been thinking on it. > There are some HCV hotlines but they arent open 24 hours a day. > I wonder what it would cost, and if I could find volunteers to staff it round the clock? > > love > don in ks
