Guest guest
Don,Wow, you might have opened up Pandora's box with this one!Several years ago I found out my liver wasn't functioning right because of hep-c. This was compounded by alcohol.Since then I've:1. Learned how much alcohol was damaging me, my life, my relationships.2. Had that fact reinforced to me when I started to slip, right on this site!3. Met some great folks literally local and worldwide, only because we shared one thing: the dragon.4. Had to go through self-education, diagnosis, treatment and healing with my support lady, now my lover and best friend. Once you've been through that together and survived, most other things are minimal distractions. Our relationship today is stronger and solider than it ever was before treatment.5. Formed a better relationship with my kids, who I had to ask for help and support while on treatment. That was hard for me (superman), and they finally realize their dad is human...so I'm more approachable on a wide range of subjects than I was before hep-c.6. Finally wrote the book my mom always said I had in me. And it isn't just a book, but a tool to help others in treatment. www.hepcman.comThere's a short and very incomplete list. Teri and I have conversations off-forum and on facebook, we support and encourage each other all the time, and why? Well, because we met on this site, and without the dragon we'd never know there was a person 2,000 miles away we could help with an email or a smiley face "just because". This is an off-the-cuff reply, I'm sure you'll get many more answers to your question from myself and others. Look at it this way, I met a crazy guy in KS with a transceiver to the Universe growing out of his head, and we've traded arguments, agreements and knowledge since then! Why? 'Cause of the dragon...By the way, attached to this is a no-charge PDF of that book. Please strip it off any replies to this email!SteveLife is much more fun when thought of as a scavenger hunt as opposed to a surprise party. Jimmy Buffett [ ] What are the HCV Silver Linings? - Teri/Steve/all Hi teri and Steve You have both mentioned several time about there being 'silver linings to having HCV. What are they? Anyone else want to jump in here too? For me the main positive thing about having HCV is that I am finally trying to improve my diet for the first time in my life. I am now 59. Thats a long time eating garbage and living in the dark. Oh yeah, I also now know where my liver is, and what it does. Some basic medical education about my body. This reminds me of a McCartney song - 'Liver and let die'. LMAO :-) <--- click here Im sure there are many more things, but I have brain fog bad, and cannot think. It would be good to list them as we find them, for everyone to mull over. love don in ks 1 of 1 File(s) printready.pdf
