Not a good start to this day

Hi all. Was prepared to try and have a decent day. I am stressed to the max.

Woke up and got ready to go to town to shop for groceries. Was opening the door

to take my dog outside to go potty when I looked up and saw some bald man I had

never seen before coming from my large shed. He was walking out towards the

road. He looked at me and kept walking. I ran in and got the phone. I walked

back out and saw that two vehicles drove up and picked him up. One had a trailer

on it and had a car load of people in it. This is at 1045 am in the morning. My

neighbors a half mile away are out mowing their yard. We have had a lot of

thefts in our area. My car was outside. I called the cops. They came out and

took the info. Kind of shook me up. If they weren't casing it he could have

killed me. Just scary. I have a gun but that wasn't even my first thought to get

it. Shoot. I was half awake. I walked right out for them to see me. They could

have shot me had they had a gun. Dumb. I told the sherrif my husband and I

weren't there at night due to work so they would check the place at night. They

said they would. Our area has had a heck of a lot of thefts lately. They are

after computers and tvs and electronics. and machinery. log splitters,

generators, stuff like that. We have all that stuff. They did not get anything

that I could see of ours. Right now I think they would have been dissappointed

with any of our stuff. Ours is all about in need of over hauls. lol. Needs some

work. At least some of it does. But this all adds quite a bit of stress on me.

Also I am here alone at night and that concerns me on my nights off. I don't

feel real safe now. We already had one neighbor killed recently. He was shot

about a couple of months ago. So my stress level is way high right now. Anyway

just shook up. Did not go shopping after all. Could not make it to town in time

to cash my check to shop. Shoot. Not good timing. I am glad I don't have to shop

though. Really did not feel like it.

Oh sweetheart are you okay now? I'd be scared out of my mind! Did you get a good enuf description of the guy and the cars to give to the cops? In broad daylight? How brazen. Make yourself a cup of herbal tea and try to relax, find some old movie on tv and think about how lucky you are to not have to fight the crowds at the grocery store. Put your feet up and de-stress. Breathe. I am glad you are safe, and took the steps that you did.

You did the right things.

Now try to let this experiance pass, and not let it ruin your day.

Take a deep breath, re-focus, and think good thoughts.

Perhaps that guy just needed a place to sleep for the night, and that was it.

Still, having lived in the country, awareness is a good thing.

When I lived in the country on the farm, bow hunters were my biggest fear, not thieves.

When they fire, you dont even hear a bang.

I found many hunting arrows stuck in the walls of my house.

Some arent too careful what they shoot at.

Usually too, they didnt kill for food, but for the rack only.

The carcass is left behind.

Im glad I live in town now. Sorta.

Now I only have to deal with the crazies.

And there are plenty of those. YOW

It would frighten me too and I certainly don't live out in the boonies!!!However, just make sure that you leave yard lights on all night and we always leave the TV on in the living room as well. Then, double check each of your doors and DON'T go outside if you hear a noise.We don't even lock our doors where I am simply because, no one would ever be able to get a fix on when someone is home or is not home!!!Gloria

We have an automatic yard light that lights up the whole place. Also I leave the tv on. The doors I always leave locked. I used to live in Dallas Tx and Denver Co. I don't take chances. Thanks Cinder Love you

No he wasn't looking for somewhere to sleep. He had a group of people picking him up when he was done checking out what we had in our shed. They had a trailer they were pulling with a bunch of stuff on it. We did have a neighbor killed not that long ago too. Also we had the neighbor right next to us get robbed. they took his plasma tv right off his wall in the middle of the day. I think I just happened to catch him before he got to check out very much. scared him off I think. Good thing I did not just run out there with my gun. Then what yell target practice and shoot haha. He did not have a bow and arrow. We don't have deer around here except around dawn and dusk. This was around 9-10 sometime I think.

My husband will be here the rest of the night. He come home. I feel guilty waking him up when He worked all night. Poor guy. Later Thanks Cinder
