Hey guys,My 30 year old son is having surgery in about 20 minutes, it may be longer because his blood pressure is REALLY high 177/140. They are going to try to release a nerve that is stuck in his elbow. This would be a normal surgery under optimal conditions but his father had his first heart attack at 35 and has proceeded to have 17 more. They just took him into surgery. Will post more later. Need positive vibes friends, Don do your magic with your hair please. I'm a worried Mom right now.Teri Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry------------------------------------

Don and everyone,Ian is out of surgery now, actually he is home already. The doctor said he was able to free the nerve from the bones it was crushed between and they managed to get his blood pressure down to normal before the surgery, he was pretty scared and just didn't want to let on. The surgery took about an hour and the doc came out and said the best we can expect is 90% use of his arm... that's a lot better than no use. When I saw him after surgery he was pretty funny... pretty loopy on demerol and vistiril and they had injected anesthesia into the site on his arm where the did the surgery so that was numb and he went home with a script for Vicodin. I got him a little stuffed monkey from the gift

shop, I gave it to him when I saw him after surgery and he was so funny... he said "you used to always call me your little monkey... and I still are!" Yeah dude... wanna vicodin too? His arm is bandaged like a football and he's on the couch watching or sleeping thru Lord of the Rings. He has laid claim to the couch and the good tv for the rest of the week. Now he just has to not move that hand much... and it's is right hand.. and get better. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers and personal messages to me. It really helped, I was really stressed. This is my baby. My one and only. This kid is my life. I'm just glad it's over now.Hugs from Chicago.... gotta pack some more...Teri From: Christ

Teri,

Good to hear that Ian came out of surgery well. The waiting through things like

that is the worst! That's one worry you can cross off your list.

I really feel for you and this big move. It's great that you found a house that

you like. The little town sounds so charming. If I were a little closer, I'd

help you pack but the best I can do is be an armchair cheerleader. Go Teri!

You'll get there, one box at a time.

Love, Deb

Thanks Deb. His blood pressure scared the crap out of all of us this morning... He was internalizing everything so as not to show us how scared he really was. He was playing the whole thing off like it was just a minor thing. When he saw me walk in this morning the relief just came over his face. It was a good feeling, then I looked at the blood pressure monitor and quietly freaked out inside. Took valium and versed to bring it down so they could do the surgery. He's a trooper, he'll be fine. But mom was worried... He's my little boy still what can I say?Packing BLOWS!TeriFrom: truthseeker103 <truthseeker103@...> Sent: Tue, June 1, 2010 6:09:40 PMSubject: [ ] Re: Prayers Needed Please
