Guest guest
Okay, I read the drug info on Cymbalta. I realize that in today's legal mumbo-jumbo world EVERYTHING comes with disclaimers, but the reports on this drug scares me. It says( like all do) that it may cause liver problems. But it goes on to say that there have been reports of it causing hepititus. That seems like it is pretty hard on liver. And it says not to be taken by anyone with a family history of bipolar disorder. I don't, but my daughter is EXTREME bipolar ( rapid-cycling) and my mother was schezephrenic(sp) manic depressive. VERY. I have always been aware and watchful of my self. So far, so good...till just last year with HCV, Fibro and post- menopausal. Am I just over-reacting about this drug, Cymbalta?? Darn again! I was really hoping to get some relief from this Tensed-up, stressed feeling I have 24/7...there aren't any life factors to cause this, just this damn illness. And I don't want to smoke. ( it does help with stressed feeling). What to do, what to do.... http://facebook.com/people/andTrudy-Kinsey/1340460877 " " A well- behaved woman never made history " ...Mae West http://oktravels.wordpress.com http://allrecipes.com/cook/TrudyK/profile.aspx
Guest guest
Trudy,I take Celexa... took it during tx and for 6 weeks before tx started, came off it after tx and was put back on it in April. Love the stuff. AND it's 4 bucks at Wal Mart. I looked up Cymbalta too and that one would scare me. Now on this part I think I'm wrong cause I don't remember the name, but isn't that the same drug they are using on Fibro? The one in the commercials? God knows my short term memory sucks but why does that drug name ring a bell for me..? Unless I was on it once.... no telling.Hugs from Gurnee,TeriFrom: Trudy <trudykinsey@...>Hcv < >Sent: Wed, July 7, 2010 11:24:08 PMSubject: [ ] Yikes! Or not... Guest guest
Trudy, I had taken cymbalta for 3 years after my surgery for both pain and anxiety. It worked very well. It takes about a month to get working in your system but I swear I saw a huge difference as did my family. My sister is bipolar and also my Mom has issues that were not diagnosed. Most drugs have liver issues but I feel you must weigh out the benefits. I, myself, although I read all of everyone’s posts I don’t understand the full impact of Hep c. But I can say that sometimes you have to look at the BIG picture and decide if it will help all those other symptoms that you are suffering with on a daily basis. Whatever you do please don’t smoke. That would be the worst. I have chronic asthma and lung issues and I can tell you from experience you don’t want to have to suffer with them. I would also ask that all you wonderful friends out there keep me in your prayers. I am going for a second thyroid surgery in September to remove the remainder due to cancer. Then I will do radiation therapy. I am extremely optimistic that I will be fine. I am hoping that I will get back to my quilting soon after. Have a wonderful day!
