Im not too informed about Thyroid problems and Treatment, except that it does happen.

I am very sorry that you had to stop HCV TX, but your Thyroid sounds like the more immediate health issue for now.

HCV takes a long time to progress, so you possibly have time to address your other, more immediate, health concerns first.

The good news is that by the time you get your Thyroid issues under control, newer HCV meds may be out for public use.

The duo, Interferon/Riba with the Protease Inhibitor added will be out this comming winter.

You may not be able to do this as it involves the I/R.

But the FDA is trying to fast track some other, oral meds, that dont involve the I/R combo.

I have been watching the clinical trials, and they sound pretty good.

So dont dispair, take it one step at a time.

Your doctor will keep you on track, and when it is possible for you to do TX again, Im sure you will be informed.

Hopefully you will be given the newer meds that maybe will involve less sides, shorter duration, and better results.

We are right beside you, and your not alone.

I, personally will keep posting the latest research news, and keep everyone informed.

I am waiting also, and hope I have the time.

Here is a little about me.

Was told in April 09 I had hep c and probly have had it all my life. I worried and thought this through and finally started my shot 10/1 sounded lke just a good date as any. 10/27 was told to stop my white count has droped to 1.2, just tired and weak and numb legs and feet 11/10 every thing has dropped (WBC, PLT , RBC , HGB) .No more treatments for me for a while guess since I missed my 2 wk window I will have to start over. 11/27 every thing is coming back up and now my thyriod is hyper TSH is .01. 12/15 & 16 Thyroid necular test wait for the dr to call 12/31 more blood work 1/7/10 went back to the dr today all

my blood counts are back to normal. But the thyroid is still hyper. Still no more treatments. 2/4 Well my thryoid is 6.0 just a little high now, but now my viral load is 2.8 million I was afraid of that. This is one of the questions I asked before even starting treatment was would it come back with a vengance! 4/1 Thyroid went hypo at 74.38 high end is 5.47. Started thyroid meds.Synthoid
