Guest guest
hi Robin I am convinced that depression is a side effect of just having HCV, but it also shows up during treatment. The Pdocs say that 25-40% of all Americans suffer from depression, but Im betting that that number is far higher. If you think about it, someone loses their health, or just discovering they are losing their youth. Then throw in family/relationship problems, the economy, work, lifestyle, etc....man its depressing to even think about. Life is hard to deal with. I would suggest that you begin Mental Health treatments again with a regular Headdoc, not your GP. Our minds are as important as any other feature of our health. There are some good Pdrugs out there to help. You can also help yourself with tools like having a hobby to focus on. I dont watch much TV because TV leaves me stressed out. Music is good. So are pets. Take a walk in the woods. Exercise. Its good that you are doing a good diet, and taking sups. We are what we eat, and I believe that this is most important. But be careful mixing sups and meds, you dont want adverse reactions. Here is a search link for Candida. http://search./search?ei=utf-8 & fr=slv8-tyc7 & p=candida & type= One good thing to look for in a doctor is - are they willing to work with you to resolve your health issues. Knowing that they are a good doctor is another thing. Each of us has had trouble finding a good doctor. I think you may be on the right track though with the DD clinic, and changing doctors. Focus on the positive Robin. Answers are out there, one just has to find them. Never give up. love don in ks Did I mention I'm a caretaker for my 78 yr. old Mom & she's doing knee replacement on the 13th(incredible timing-huh!).Also forgot to mention the horrible depression I'm going through!I've tried so many anit-depressants with no long term luck,so,not on anything now.I felt very "overmedicated" & after researching, understand it probably was due to the liver not filtering.Anyone else have this problem with meds? I,also, have a fungal(candida?)infection that has been with me for about 10 yrs.Got so bad after "Dr.Quack" did "anti-biotic treatment" for my kidney issues for almost three yrs.-didn't know he wasn't even sending my urine to be cultured. My blood work is showing I have a low platelet count-Elevated AGAP,protein & LDL.While waiting all those years for medical help & then having "Dr.Quack" I have resorted to many natural supplements.I take alot of immune building & detox supplements(had to do something!)I,also, try to stick with a good diet.No sugars, low carb-organic/fresh veggies(I juice several x's a week).Recently, stopped all beef & pork. Also, cut out shellfish,fish-I live near the beach & read about the toxins in Gulf water & seafood.Thinking I have mercury problems(got a mouth full of fillings, too). So changing the diet & supplementation seems to give me a little more energy & helps with fungal infection & brain fog.Really started the Detoxifiers but am now having problems with constipation(read about rapid die-off).Should I stop the supplements before I do all the testing? I'm trying to stay positive(my Mom thinks I'm just depressed) & am so anxious about seeing Specialist on Friday! Are there things I should ask him or look for in a good specialist?I'm so leery of Dr.'s-the last one almost almost killed me!Guess it's obvious which way I'm leaning-treatment or supplements!Hope everyone has a blessed day! Guest guest
Thanks for the encouragement.Today has been a much better day-not really physically better, but definitely emotionally & spiritually.Forgot how important it is to reach out to others(learned that at 12 step meeting I attend).I think after my appt.on Friday & Mom's surgery(next tues)things will look brighter-no matter the outcome.I resorted to natural treatments for the " fungal infections " -(Dr.Quack didn't believe in " candida " ) after learning how damaging the Rx are to the liver.I'm really trying to make some important changes & stay positive but have to remember it won't happen overnite! Thanks again for the positive reinforcement! God Bless & take care!
